WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?
Posts
I've played through it 4 times. I am currently playing through it again right now because I got an SNES emulator for my PocketPC and its what I play when I poop at work.
post=155915post=155914There's only one rule I don't understand.
Doing a Nuzlocke Challenge of Pokemon Sapphire. Trying to beat Brawly with a Beautifly and a ZUBAT at the moment.
2. You may ONLY catch the first Pokemon in each new route.
Yeah, the first thing you see is the only thing you're allowed to catch. If it dies or you fail to catch it (or just run away) then you can't have anything from that route.
It's to make the game more fun by forcing you to use pokemon you normally wouldn't, and surprisingly, it makes the game like 5 times better.
post=155927That's pretty cruel. Understandably cruel, though, since this is a challenge. Honestly, it's like some people don't know the meaning of the word anymore.post=155915Yeah, the first thing you see is the only thing you're allowed to catch. You'd be surprised about how many Pokemon are actually decent. Right now my team is Grovyle, Lombre, Zubat, Whismur and Beautifly, and it fucks everyones shit up.
The main problem is the placement of the gyms. Like, a fighting gym 2nd is cruelty. Most of your moves at that point are normal type, so you can't touch anything, plus the leaders Pokemon are pretty high leveled. -_-

Lombre turns into the best swift swimmer bar Kingdra, just ftr. Keep it.

Just beat Persona 2 innocent sin and have pre-ordered Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep(comes out the 9th in Australia) so I'll probably play that next.
Just want to ask, since persona 2 innocent sin had a crap ending if playing eternal punishment is a good idea and If putting it on hold until I beat Birth By Sleep is a good idea?

Resident Evil 4ruined the series. Resident Evil 5 ruined it more.
"I know, let's try and make it a shoot 'em up with zombies, but without any actual zombies and without a good combat engine. People will eat that up! Oh, and forget about conservation of ammo, conservation of items and fearing for your own survival, what the series was, y'know, founded on. Just throw that out of the window. Add enemies that drop guns and ammo and experience and guns that can be levelled up. It makes PERFECT SENSE! Throw horror out too, we don't need that either. A creepy atmosphere and keeping the player on the edge of their seat is so PSX."

That sounds really true. I've played all the Residents, and the one i did mostly enjoy was Res3!!! Dude, that one yes, really long game, always with few ammo, and with some scary scenes. ;) Really cool game!!
Res1 = The most survival game in the serie, you really get no ammo at all, you always walk with 1<10 ammo in your gun, and there are zombies everyware. That one yes, was a really surviving thig.
Res4 = I did like it only because the inovation. Well, it had some nice scenes too, you can't deny...
The zombies added such as the chainsaw zombies, i totally did enjoy it, and those were the ones who really did made me, Fuck, i can't get hit by them...Others...Yah, they came in lots, but...Easy/non scary, due to brighter graphics.
Old graphics>Nowadays graphics to me! I really like them oldschool! =)

Playing it on professional mode rebutes this whole statement. I agree that resi 5 was pretty much a downgrade from the preivous title.. but if you get a pal and play it on co op with the pro difficulty, the experiance get's ten times more nerve racking. What do you perfer? a poor control system that's pretty much half the time all about item management? Or a constant battle for survival where you can bring a friend along?
Edit: But other than that the rest of the game lacked substance :(

Of course a cooperative system is the ROCKAGE on it. It's rarely to get a survival horror with cooperative mode.... (obscure was the first i tried, and was really nice to play with my bro on co.)
But, i'd rather a more puzzled game, than a constant battle game. It gets more mysteriouse, and the battles need to be epic!
Don't mind me. I'm in the middle of a Final Fantasy marathon. When that's done I'll have a much more interesting list.
Final Fantasy IV Advance (GBA) - in b4 Zeromus, 20+ hours logged
Final Fantasy IX (PSX) - Disc 2, Gargant Roo, 10+ hours logged
Final Fantasy X (PS2) - in b4 Braska's Final Aeon, 40+ hours logged
Final Fantasy XIII (360) - Chapter 11, Gran Pulse, 40+ hours logged
Generic playthroughs. I am always impressed by people who take on self-imposed challenges but never bothered doing them myself. Sounds like something else I can take on sometime in the future to further enjoy my old titles but right now there's still lots I haven't beaten at all.

You obviously haven't played Res 4 for the Wii. The combat system is incredible on there. I can't speak for the title for the other systems, as I've only played a demo of it many many years ago on the gamecube. From what I can remember though, aiming sucked. But the wiimote remedied that quite nicely.

"super" FFXII? :P
I played it once about 35 hours in a few years back and stopped at Golmore Jungle. I lost my save so I need to start over. Don't want to start it just yet since I'm planning on working my way through the SNES series (FFIV-FFVI) once I'm done with FFX and FFXIII. Looking forward to playing FFXII though; it's been long enough that I've almost forgotten everything that happens up to that point, so it's going to feel fresh.
