WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?

Posts

To be honest, most of that 'Good game, Bad game' list comes down to opinion. Personally I'd be putting Etrian Odyssey, Ogre Battle and Riviera: The Promised Land onto the good pile, because the first and third are two of my favorite games, and Ogre Battle is a good strategy game.

As for your reasons, Etrian Odyssey is hard, but manageable. Ogre Battle is not meant to be for those who want a quick game and I've played games with FAR slower battle systems than Riviera: The Promised Land.

On this sorta note, been playing Etrian Odyssey some more recently, just training characters up on the Wolves so I can combat the first boss. Wolves go down fairly quick when you have Apollon in your skill set, so I might as well clear the way for 3 in game days.

What about:

Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier - Tits!

Whether the game was good or bad is up for debate I guess.

This is the VG equivalent of the Casting Couch.
My poor KOS-MOS! What are they making you do to be in games again!?
Wait how are Luminous Arc and Rondo of Swords replicas of FFTA? They're all portable SRPGs, yeah...
hey craze. I'M FINALLY GONNA PLAY THE SIMS 3
I don't understand how someone can consider Atlus games to be generic. Almost every Atlus game I have played has been original in some way.

I mean what other publisher has released games that can be described as the following: a high school sim you where battle demons in a random dungeon by shooting yourself in the head, an RPG where people periodically burst into song, a SRPG where you cause damage by moving through enemies, a turn-based RPG where you rack up combo points for juggling your opponents, a cross between Mechwarrior and the Sims with a steampunk setting, or a game where the world is destroyed in the first ten minutes.

Atlus might not always release a great game, but at least they are experimenting and trying different things.

If you ever actually get into it, I highly suggest checking out AwesomeMod. I can also point you to lots of other cool/useful mods, but AwesomeMod does... a lot of good stuff.

I never got to finish BOFIV. CD had a bad scratch on it and prevented me from going further - think I was more than halfway through.

Scias is such a cool dude, even if his alcoholism was censored out in the English language version.

Which ones? I for one admit that BOF III's Dragon system blows every single over BOF game's Dragon system out of the water.
BoF4 has weird dragons that aren't your usual western style dragons and like Feldschlacht said the whole dragon system isn't as good as 3 (still better than 1+2 (what isn't) ) but it is a pretty good game. The only parts being massacred is the uninspired trash in the first two games and having some interesting villains.

It's also a fixed with font in 2000 and I'm not a fan of the music but I admit those are my pet peeves. Some people complain about all the minigames too, some of which can be annoying.

*edit*
That is to say, BoF4 is better than its predecessors in every way except the ass-slow difficulty curve and BoF3 has a better dragon-transformation mechanic and BoF4 dragons aren't western style unlike the rest of the series.
One thing about the minigames, at least they tie into the gameplay (powering up your dragon forms). One thing about BO4 is that there is a lot to do, and it's all rewarding in one way or another.

EDIT: However the unique composition of BOF 3's music puts its music head and shoulders over the other games in the series.
