I do understand why you guys say meh a lot about the latest final fantasy games. Most people haven't liked them after X because of the way they have changed the gameplay and battle systems.
You mean the only one they changed(XI doesn't count)which was XII? I think XII is the vest thing they'd released in years. Also new pics with actual in-game of the battle system..
Looks kinda like XIIs battle system but maybe with controlling aspects to the attack like Crisis Core. Like choosing your commands then acting them out sorta thing. BTW I thought X was absolute shit, as well VIII. Only really liked VII, IX, XII. Sorta IV.

I am one of those nerdy Final Fantasy fanatics, so I have no problem playing any Final Fantasy. Liked them all... to an extent. I really am looking forward to play this new Final Fantasy. =D
Never said they didn't make assloads of money. But the quality of the games has certainly dropped amazingly.

What happened to Tetsuya Nomura (I never liked his style but still)?
I'll probably enjoy this game, but Final Fantasy has never been incredible to me. The quality of the games is directly related to Square-Enix and them having 50 games currently in the making.

(If it matters, I'm more interested in these games being released for the sake of Square's staff being freed up for a FFVII remake than actually playing them! Before some random smuck corrects me-- yes, I'm aware this has yet to actually be confirmed. I should think it's fairly obvious, though!)

Yeah they do make a lot of games at once but i'm still happy with what they produce.

I kind of lost interest in Final Fantasy since like 2001. Although 13 seems to have a lot of the blatant SE stupidity in it, I get this FF8-ish vibe from it so I'm vaguely interested in how it will turn out. As long as Nomura isn't writing anything it might actually be a decent return to (PSX-era) form for the series.
Final Fantasy VIII had a cool look and feel to it but overall it's a pretty shit game. I tried replaying it this year.. That game is a lot worse then I remembered having only played it back when I was a kid, but I couldn't stand that retarded(Could've used a better word I know)Junction & Draw system that it was almost unplayable.
I played FF8 this year too and had a lot of fun. I got 99% of my magic from items and didn't really bother trying to make my characters good. I am too old to care about maxing stats or whatever, I just... want the general experience...
Man I couldn't stand the junction/draw systems in place.. And Squalls "whatever" complex. The game I used to like when I was a kid just felt different and awkward.
