I'm trying to run a few RM games on my new monitor, but it stretches them out to fit the screen and creates enormous dark distorted blotches across the screen. I can't find an option to stretch or compress the screen or anything- I'm using an Acer x223w- and while it doesn't make games unplayable, it's annoying and it certainly takes away from the experience. I can't seem to find a way to fix it.
Same thing happens to me, I have an Acer flat screen monitor ... I'd like to know why this is happening as well.
I also noticed that it only happens when the game is played in fullscreen.

I have a Dell flatscreen computer and it happens to me as well. Since i am not that good with computers i don't know how to fix it but i just don't play games in fullscreen mode.
The framerate drops to about a quarter of what it should be when I try windowed mode, so that isn't exactly an option for me.

Lol you have my same problems ...
But then again, my computer is shitty so i wouldn't expect anything better.
There should be a way to maintain aspect ratio if you use GPU scaling. Open up the NVidia/ATI control panel, look for GPU scaling, and see if there's a 'Maintain Aspect Ratio' option around.

cool, it worked. Thanks a lot GRS. :)
So essentially, if my graphics card doesn't have that option, I'm fucked, right?
I'm using an S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR. Feel free to laugh; it's been in this old junker since before my dad handed it down to me and I've never really gone out and bought a new one.
Unless I'm doing it wrong; I went to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Display adapters > S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR.
