THERE'S THIS GLITCH IN RM2K3 THAT I JUST CAN'T FIGURE OUT

I'm having a problem with a glitch that appears in my game "Megaman X: The Return of Wily". If you've played it, you probably know what it is. So this is it.

In battle, if the player goes into their item menu, goes back, and attempts to use X's "Charge" Command, the game glitches and closes itself.

When the "Charge" command is used, it accesses this in-battle event.

<> Play Sound: increase
<> Change Equipment: X Weapon Unequip
<> Change Equipment: X Power Shot Equip
<> Change Condition: X Charge Inflict
<> Call Commont Event: X Used Charge


Let me break it down for you...
First, it plays a sound effect.
Then, it unequips X's weapon, which is "X-Buster"
Next, it equips X with his power shot, so his attack animation will be different.
Then, X is inflicted with the Charge condition, so he will look as if he's charging up a Power Shot.
Finally, the common event changes his battle commands, allowing him to do nothing but fire a Power Shot, use an Item, or Flee.

When it glitches, the message says, "Event referenced and item that does not exist", but I can't quite figure it out. I'm thinking the source is either when it changes X's equipment or when is proceeds to the common event, but I'm not sure.

Is there anyone out there who can help me?
You could try copying all the commands in the common event and just place them after changing X's condition instead of calling the common event itself.

Go to your database and increase the item array to 5000.

Come back and tell me if this fixed it.

Problem is you can't change battle commands within the Monster Groups tab.

Tried this but it still crashes after doing the Item-charge action.

edit: It might be worth employing a combo-type of system like in Kentona's Heroes Realm although I can't remember if that gave you an affliction (like in your game you have Charged). There won't be the option of choosing when to Power Shoot though.
Oh okay, I did not see the bolded part for some reason.

RM2K3 has a problem where if you go into the sub menu of any section during battle (skills, items, etc), and then cancel out of it to do another command like Attack, it has the possibility is messing up. I'm not sure how to duplicate that bug, though.

I think the glitch happens when the event tries change around the items and equip X with the "Power Shot", which would explain why it screws up after leaving the item menu, but I just can't figure out why it glitches.

EDIT: I just tried to see if it would screw up if you backed out of another menu (like magic skills) instead of items, and it didn't. Meaning it's got to be linked to the item menu somehow.
What battle animation is associated with the Power Shot weapon? Maybe it's messed up.
The "Charged" condition changes X's battle animation, and the power shot animation is completely different than his normal x buster attack.
I meant the Hero Animation. If it is not set, it can cause problems.
