No, Luso's design is pretty fucking awful.
Pizza delivery coming through!
I must admit... He looks ridiculous. Someone took the "guy with big sword" idea to an extreme nobody wants to see.
It was 'Slap an extra accessory on him' day at SE HQ
Not that it matters since you don't see any of the details on his sprite and you only have to deal with his head when he talks.

No, I'm not going to say you're racist.
However, my point was, I (and a lot of people) think the character design for FF (and Kingdom Hearts by extension) for the last few years was absolutely terrible, with each iteration bearing more retarded clothing choices that looked like a thrift store had an abortion. People are even making jokes about Nomura, calling him the 'belt and zipper' guy.
This guy is refreshing because he just looks like a black guy.
I bet you $20 that he will be the character with the "Steal" command.
Also the final boss will have an item called "Car Stereo".

Huzzah! New trailer out that actually features Gameplay! And I've gotta say...I'm impressed! Looks fun. Kind of like an FF X/X-2 and XII fusion of sorts. A very fast-pased battle system.
Just go here and down to the trailers tab, and view the new trailer.

Trailor was not to bad looks great I just hope the story is better than 12.
I'm really not interested in this topic, so I'm not going to read it. You can call me an old-fashioned asshole all you want, but if Final Fantasy will continue to use the new battle system (like in 12 and 13) I will not play them. It's fucking stupid.

WHAT THE FUCK SQUARE ENIX
YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO SURPRISE ME BY RELEASING A TRAILER THAT ACTUALLY EXCITES ME ABOUT THE GAME
YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DISAPPOINTING ME
THIS IS HOW IT WORKS
ARGHHHHH THIS IS TEARING ME APART

from this trailer it looks like in this final fantasy you push buttons to deal damage to enemies while watching animations
I like how everyone is all "I wanna see FF13 gameplay. Gimme dat gameplay. I need it!!" and years pass with no gameplay shown and people are like "where is the gameplay????" and then they show a trailer with gameplay and the internet explodes like "woah!!!!! ff13 gameplay~!! im so excite" it almost makes me think this was some hilarious marketing gimmick
So basically you're saying that someone demanding something (FFXIII gameplay in this case)...and then when it's supplied (FFXIII gameplay footage), the fanbase being happy is some sort of...hilarious marketing gimmick? So basically demand and supply is a hilarious marketing gimmick?
Uh, keep on rockin', buddy.

No, it is just that they just made "FF13's Gameplay" into this mysterious thing, a holy grail to be yearned for. There have been so many articles speculating about it, and analyses written on each new trailer lamenting the absence of gameplay. And it is basically just selecting attacks from a menu and watching animations. Today the internet was in an uproar over this trailer. If they had shown the gameplay right off the bat instead of teasing it for years, I imagine it would not have had this ecstatic reaction. It is just funny how gamers allow themselves to be led along by a string.
I don't think so. I mean I'm more excited about the game than I was before because the gameplay looks pretty fun.
I really don't know what else you were expecting because pretty much every game of all time has "press a button and your character does something" as gameplay since fucking Pac-Man. What do you want, man?

That is the question I was asking; what are you expecting? This whole time I was wondering what people expected as I watched them whispering excitedly about FF13's fabled gameplay in dark alleyways.
It's markedly different from what FFXII was/is, selecting a menu option and you character swings a sword once, waits for the bar to fill, swings a sword again, waits for the bar to fill, etc
This time around it looks a lot more action oriented and fluid, with combos, air juggling, the ability to fluidly switch between magic and melee, some sort of Chain system, and quick alternating attacks between two party members on one enemy.
