Platform: Windows PC

Rating: Everyone 10+ (mild violence & language)
Genre: Roleplaying/Fantasy/Action
Players: 1
Release Date: winter/spring 2009

Story

The world of Exodus is a place of mystery and intrigue. Similarly, the will of the gods hold no limits beyond a mortal's understanding. Within a darkened sect of the world, a new light shines upon an effigy of paradise through the eyes of an unknowing tortured soul. With this promised new creation given to him, life also begins -- and a chapter is ready to be written.

You begin as a Fiend of darkness who soon sees the light of the good Goddess, and is given a chance to redeem yourself through the creation of a new land in the world while having to counter and avoid the repercussions of your master. As the land is formed, you then take up the role of an adventurer whose story, over time becomes intertwined with the histories of this place as you stop a growing threat which has brought famine and strife over your home kingdom of Gauromaund.

Misc/Extras

-The game is in two parts/chapters. The first chapter, you are to create the land in which chapter 2 will take place in.

-This game is a prequel to the RMXP project I put on hiatus in order to gauge the interest level of players.

-The game will have many side quests (like raising a Dragon), secrets and puzzles. I am estimating the total game play time will be at least 6 hours, but probably more due to content.

-The game is intended to be a light-hearted fantasy (no, it's not a 'girly game'). Some may find 'light-hearted' be cliche, and perhaps it is, but I've always enjoyed playing games of this type so therefore I develop what I like to play

-Yes, the game uses Mack and Blue resources and the default battle and menu systems, but I'm hoping that the overall storyline and playability/replayability factors will counter graphics. I'd like to hopefully be a role-model for indie RPG Maker developers that flashy, uber-tastic battle systems and menus doesn't make a game great. I've tried to keep my style of game development simple, easy and as user-friendly as possible, and I also like to keep the old-school gaming feel like so many of my favorite console RPGs have done.

THIS IS SO EXCITING TO ME (please be something like dwarf fortress) THAT I REQUIRE A DEMO NOW NOW NOW.
Oh come on Max! Don't knock it until you've tried it!

These kind of RPG's will always have a place in my heart. Mapping is great and some of the features are really interesting. You have a good attitude, so keep at it!

Not much else to say, but I'll look forward to it.

???

Clearly you were confused by the massive edit of my post that took place when I saw that it in fact was not an ABS.
Thanks for looking! :)
Actually, the bulk of the game is done so there won't really be a demo. I'm just in need of a few resources before I am to release the full version (which I hope will be very soon. I am aiming for early-mid spring, if at all possible).
I've placed a request for volunteers in the appropriate forum.
For a while I've been pretty interested in this game because judging from your blog and some of your words here, you seem to have a really professional mindset and methodology when it comes to game making. :) (Also glad to hear that it really isn't a "girly game," lol.)

However, I guess personally I'd really like to know more about the main characters, and what exactly you mean by "you are to create the land in which chapter 2 will take place in." That's very unique and intriguing, yet you only mention it in passing.

In fact, the advert as a whole is kind of vague (or maybe just very brief). Though I think it's good you're not bombarding us with the biographies and hobbies and blood types of every character and their dog, I think you also should give us more info since it seems you spent a lot of time and effort on this game. It might be just me, but besides some of the story concepts, right now it seems fairly generic. (Probably especially to those people who scroll right to the screens.) Showcase its uniqueness more! Hype can be a good thing sometime. ;) Good luck with the final touches, I'm looking forward to checking it out.
Thank you! I appreciate the comment! ^_^
Actually, I will be doing up some concept art and things very soon (I'm making an "instruction booklet" to accompany the game :P ) So I will showcase the characters and all of that as well.
And yes, I'm trying to get into a professional midset because I would like to design games for a living someday and I hope this project will lay down the foundations for a (hopeful) career.

I appreciate the fact that more people are interested in this. I had created this game in order to see if many people would be interested in my stories and games, so I guess we'll see how it goes once it's released! ^_^
Looks interesting, but I agree with mellytan, I would like to know more about the characters. It's cool if you want to do more detailed character descriptions in your instruction booklet, but at least a short blurb in your advert wouldn't hurt. Besides, I personally would be less likely to read your instruction booklet, as I don't really do so for console games.

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep this in mind for the next game I do. I'm currently working on the character bios and will have pictures drawn up very soon. Thanks for looking!
This game looks unbelievably good. The more I read about it, the more I want to play it. You obviously have a very professional attitude, and are approaching this with the kind of passion I love to see in Game Designers. The screen-shots are gorgeous for being an RPGMaker 2003 game, and the story seems to be original and interesting. I'd like to offer more than just fluffy words though, so I'll shoot you some real critiques, etc, when a playable is available!

Good luck!
Of course! Any and all feedback and constructive criticism is appreciated. I'm currently working on revamping my website in time for the game debut. Thank you for looking!
The website is pretty much finished, however, I'm not going to open it up to the public until the release of MX happens. Still waiting on those sprite resources from someone who had volunteered, though I've not heard any resopnse from my follow-up email, so I'm not sure if he's still interested or not :( I may have to hunt for someone else again. The music person is having some problems, so I might need to find someone else for that, too. It's so frustrating when you're so close to releasing a game and you run into these problems.

On a positive note, I worked on a promo pic while I wait for these resources since I really can't do much else until that happens (sorry for the low quality JPG)...
