FONT ISSUE

No, my font characters are not squished together/spread out. In fact, my issue is that there are no font characters. I think this happened when I installed a "font patch" program a while back for RPG Maker 2000. I've tried to look around for a way to fix my RM2000 and RMG2000 fonts, but I've found none. Can anyone help me with that?
I think this happened to me once. I reinstalled RM2k and everything got sorted but the old font issue came back. The only way to fix it for myself was to manually drag and drop the font files and reboot.
Look around before you post!
There is a post on the same page as this one asking the same thing!
Anyways, go into the master help topic. Choose the RPG maker tools, and use fontfix.

The irony is that Fontfix is the patch that caused my problem to begin with. I don't have font letters mashed together; I can't see them, period.

Is this a problem with every RM2k game? Does it happen with RM2k3 games?
Both. The issue affects the RM2000 and RMG2000 fonts in my font folder directly. There is no visible text on them. The only thing in the font viewer for both fonts are the numbers that indicate sizes.

If you mean download the font files manually, then put them in the Fonts folder, I already did that and I still have the same issue.
Sounds like the font fix thingy fucked up the actual font files. Try downloading these fonts and putting the RM2000 fonts (the *.fon files) into your Windows/Fonts directory.

Negative.

I'm going to take three guesses...
1. Your font files may be corrupted, and when you dragged them back Windows may have not replaced them properly. Try deleting them and re-copying the fonts directly. Check RM2000, RMG2000, MS Gothic, and MS Mincho; the four main 2K/2K3 fonts, and try checking a random other font in the folder.
2. Your file system may be corrupted. Open a command prompt and type "chkdsk c: /f" and say yes to running it on next boot. Restart your computer and see what happens.
3. Unlikely, but your disk itself may be corrupted. Open a command prompt and do the same thing as above, but replace /f with /r. This could take awhile, so whip up a console game or something in the meantime.
See if any of them work, this looks a lot like an O/S problem than anything else. If they don't work...not sure of what else to say at the moment.
