[SILLY IDEA] MARIO ZOMBIES!

A couple of days back, me and some friends were joking about and wound up referencing the famous Mario in GTA video (for those who've not seen it, here). Specifically the ending with Yoshi in Raccoon City. We ended up saying "Imagine Mario and Luigi taking those guns into Raccoon City and shooting up zombie Toads and Yoshis!"
The next thing we know we're actually discussing a Mario themed zombie game featured Zombie Giga Bowser as the over the top end boss! It actually sounded like it'd be fun to play, if a bit of a novelty at best.
Anyone had similar ideas?

Well, back in the mid-90s, after wrapping FF6 for the second or third time, I thought it'd be TOTALLY AWESOME if we could have a massive game world, with hundreds of people playing an RPG at once, forming parties (of 4, of course) and going on quests.
I actually gave it a fair amount of thought (I was into designing RPGs back then). I couldn't figure out a solution to the biggest problem I percieved - how would the plot be resolved? What happens when a party defeats the Big Bad Demon Lord of Evil? My best idea was to have lots of instances of the game, with TONS of sidequests, and the game "resetting" itself for the party that beat the Big Bad.
I was years ahead of my time.
