DRAGONBALL: FANS OF THE ANIME WILL BE APALLED

I'm going opening day with some friends who are Dragon Ball fans for one reason and one reason only. To laugh the entire way through! ... Then maybe bitch about it online even though I just helped it gain a little more money...

It's going to be hilariously bad.

yeah i'm going with some friends opening day. I laughed when i saw master Roshi, hopefully he is still as pervy as he was in the anime.

I didn't, but I also don't care. Nothing against anime in general but dragonball is pretty fucking awful. This movie somehow looks even worse.

Dragonball Z is pretty fucking awful. Dragonball, on the other hand, was fairly delightful for a good chunk of it.

Actually, come to think of it, it's pretty hard to screw up anything that stars the Monkey King. I'm interested to see how the filmmakers are going to manage it.

Yeah i agree. I found Dragonball had more adventure than Dragonball Z which was just fight after fight lasting 10 episodes each.

Seriously don't go to see this movie.

Now I have no choice but to see this movie.

Damnit, I was hoping that it would be so bad it was funny, not so bad it was atrocious. Well I got my stacks of cheesy Chinese kung fu flicks so maybe I'll whip those out instead.

This series introduced me to anime, so I'll always have a soft spot for it. That being said, this movie has no chance of being remotely good.

However, I must say it was pretty brilliant of the production team to shoot for a PG rating for this movie (if PG is indeed correct, as Rotten Tomatoes says). A concept they knew they couldn't possibly make true to the source, they instead are easing up on the self-importance and are marketing it to the young teens who can grant any modicum of success to the movie. I wouldn't be surprised to see commercials for this pop up during episodes of YuGiOh and Kamen Rider.

Edit: Watched the trailer. Not sure how this got away with a PG rating. Unless Bulma's guns happen to shoot rainbows.

I personally think dragonball the movie will bea failuir. The story line wil be completely different to its anime and it will be impossible to make the characters suit the story. How will they make the kamehameha wave work with the movie unless they take it out. (I watched dragonball the funny and fanastic manga and anime. I also watched dragonball z, the continuing story of dragonball with a more serious storyline which had less comedy.) Quite frankily...I think these would have been the best endings for dragon ball z...


1.Goku defeats Frieza with the Spirit Bomb and anime ends.
2.Goku Kicks frieza's ass as a supersayan and anime ends.
3.Otherwise Cell is defeated by Ghohan, Goku's son and anime ends.

What I disliked about dragonball z is the fact that the anime lasted too long. It kept going and they never made it end >:(. I mean supersayan was like whoa awesome, goku's the legedary ssj that comes every thousand years...then supersayan 2 came along. I mean whatta hell!
Then 3 which suprised me completely. Lastly fusiions...and what suprises me more is super spirit bomb. I mean why heck didn't goku think of using that technique in past and wait till GT to use it, the dumbass.

A lot of the characters which many people believe were real weren't. Just made up characters for extra movies, like brolly and cooler and that dude who looked like gokus twin. The best anime films for dragonballz would probably be.


1. Coolers Revenge (Great story, and fighting, wish he was actually a real character)
2. Cooler Returns (A fantastic return, but is defeated by goku once again.)
3. The Worlds Strongest (Great action crap story)

Anime Films of dragonballz I wouldn't reccomend.

1. Lord Slug. (Goku becomes a fake supersayan wtf!)
2. Brolly Films...(FFS brolly dies and he comes back in an ice pod on earth after getting his stomach smashed by goku from previus anime. Then, even stupider, the bio broly movie after the first two. I wouldn't have hated it so much if brolly just died the first time)


The dragon ball z specials were great and fantastic. I loved trunks and the plot about the andriods killing eveyone and trunks has to fight to survive and make sure he goes back to the past to fix what would happen in thier time. I thought bardok the father of goku was even more brilliant when bardok see's the future of his son defeating frieza who uses the saiayans as his slaves. The fighting was good, but the story much greater...he dies peacefully knowing what his son has to do. Bardok was truly a true warrior and even when injured fought till his death.



Hopefully this movie may take away all the stupid things from dbz. 1 being the dumb characters saying "noooo I will be defeated by his galick blaster 5000 or whatever"...and not even bother trying to dodge it when they can dodge superfast punches? I mean wtf was tht about. And when goku transformed to supersayan...Frieza coulda just shot him down but what does he do...he watches him....I would just said shut up die beam and wham...end of good guy I rule over the universe. Everyone was stupid in that program. And I swear all the bad guys had like forms or stages when they were defeated they always tranformed to something stronger...JEEEZ....just die already. I thought as the android saga began to open up, that was great. I wanted to know more about the androids and why they were built and the fact that they could kick ssj asses. Vegeta had an advantage not being in the databse of the androids brain. One thing I didn't like about dbz was that it never had that feel of it's old anime where the characters also had a personal life. Goku explored the world and you understood his dumbass character. Only in the saiyaman saga which the main character was ghohan who was gettting with videl was great...I started to get back into dbz again...then buu came along and I was like cool. Ghohan will do training and kick buu's ass once and for all. But buu becomes a good guy which isn't bad...and evil buu comes out!!!! WTF evil buu just keeps getting stronger and takes peoples powers...which makes him unbeatable. Dragonball z went over the top with the powerlevel thing. It started off good and supersayan was the limit...after that...they could litterally blow up planet in 1 punch. What I really loved about dbz was it's great story and setting. Same with dragonball. The characters were unique...oolong, krillin, bulma...it was great. The fighting wasn't as good as dbz at its earlier stages. These two shows were programs I watched when I was a lot younger just before I reached high school.

Goku was probably my childhood hero. From Dragon ball he was someone who I admired and then dragonball z, where he was more serious and still always the strongest fighter always finding ways to surpass all limits and I don't know how he always managed to do it. When it came to fighting, he was a genius but dumb at everything else. I used to love it when the show would come on. My parents hardly ever got in the way most of the time as they knew how much I loved it. I love the fact that the characters went on an huge adventure to namek to find the dragon balls. Then goku comes to save day and kick frieza ass. It could have been a great ending too if it ended there. Although I did like the fact that buu was defeated in the final saga and goku and vegeta did thumbs up. :D I'm a bloke and back then it almost made me cry.


Still both are in the leagues of greatest animes ever made. (GT sucked though because they tried too hard to make dragonball and dbz in one. The storyline was never exciting and crappy, they went to far with the all powerful supersayan 4 and his fusion state the omega gogetaman supper 4 zillion gagillion powerlevelx another million billion!!)

Dragonball z is not an anime which can be rebuilt into a realistic movie unless it was almost fully made with special effects which were supreme. We might have to wait a few years till thats possible.


So yes...I will probably watch the movie just because I'm a fan. Although I'm expecting a low quality film and also a crap one in that matter...I just hope I'm wrong though.
