INTERESTED? DW: REMA'S ORIGIN (TITLE PENDING!)

Alright, I know my thread title doesn't grab the most attention in the world. That's because I'm trying to come up with a title for the game I plan on making. What I'm planning on making is a Dragon Warrior fangame that will encompass an original world, along with the worlds of Dragon Warrior 3 and 1.
There will be no spoilers. This is just an idea, I haven't begun creating it yet.
Though she plays a part in every Dragon Warrior/Quest since DW3, you never hear much about Rema/Remma/Lamia other than that the elves whom serve her call her a Godbird. She has no history that we know of. So, what I plan, is to make a game that reveals not only her history and purpose, but how she defeated the Demon Lords before Loto did; and how she became the Godbird.
This is just a synopsis. Nothing in-depth will be revealed.
- Rema will be from an entirely different World Sphere (world name pending) in the very beginning. (The first 2+ hours, til the player reaches level 15-ish.) Along with the typical DW quests and such, you will also learn of Rema's history, as well as the history of this world. (It will be the world that houses the gods.)
- Dragon Warrior 3 world will be more primitive than the way we remember it, because it is in its beginning stages. Here, Baramos will be born. You will (through rumors, cutscenes and the like) learn why Baramos was born, what Baramos's original intent was, the secrets behind the seven orbs, the pirates, and the kingdom of Isis.
- Dragon Warrior 1 world, the Dark World. This is going to be an "earlier" version of Dragon Warrior 1. Zoma is just rising here, and must be stopped. The elves will be found here, more abundantly than in Dragon Warrior 3's world. There will be several quests here, as well. At the end of the game, light will be restored to the worlds, and Rema will become a goddess. You will find out why she had to go back to the world of DW3 instead of staying in one of the other worlds she visited.
- Rema is your main. You will be able to recruit several party members, but you will only be able to switch them out at pubs in a few towns throughout the worlds.
- There will be a class-change feature at Dharma Temple in the DW3 world.
- Classes you will be able to become. Only certain characters will be able to take on certain classes. I am only listing the class names.
Warrior
Fighter
Mage
Cleric
Thief
Merchant
Jester
Sage
Knight
Assassin
Mystic
Shaman
Dancer
Bard
- If I can figure it out, I will try to implement a crafting system.
- There will be a few different kinds of casinos.
- There will be mini-quests.
*This will be my first game. If it goes well, I will make an original game when this is completed.*

I have to agree that your ideas sound pretty well thought-out, and not your typical "fanboy makes a fangame" fare. Although I'd say you could consider some of those ideas spoilers, to people who haven't played the games, don't remember them, or didn't pay enough attention =)
You've laid out what I think is a solid enough foundation. If this is your first game, I'd say stick with what you have, expand around these ideas and see what you come up with. Even if the result is a game with less than 10 hours of gameplay, that's a fine accomplishment for anyone.
Also, what software are you planning to make this in?

This sounds very ambitious, but if you can pull it off then it will be very interesting. Finding out more about so-called "minor" characters is always something to be interested in, and that it is a fan's perspective rather than a canon perspective should be something interesting to observe.
I agree, it is ambitious, but I've got nothing but free time on my hands, for the most part. It might take awhile to release, because finding the right chipsets and charasets isn't the easiest task, lol.

Thank ya! I hate the typical "fanboy makes a fangame" games, because they never end up having much thought behind them. Yeah, you could call them spoilers, I guess; but people who haven't played Dragon Warrior would probably not understand what was going on. =)
Once again, thanks! ^.^ This will be my first completed game; because even though I had been working on one before, and had put in at least a month of creation, my computer bit the big one thanks to my little sister. I'm hoping on having ten or more hours of game play, hopefully a lot more; without it losing direction.
I'm going to be using RM2K for a couple of reasons: It's all my laptop can support because VX won't run on my seven-inch monitor. I haven't been able to find any real 8-bit Dragon Warrior chipsets or charasets for RM XP. And because, as weird as it might sound, 2K and VX are my favorites to work in for some reason.
As I've said, it might take quite some time to release it because it's not easy to find the right chipsets or charasets. I have some, but I'm not at all impressed with the town chipsets.

Ask Kentona, or download Hellion for the chipsets/charsets. He's also working on a game for Release Something! (called Generica I believe) which utilize them.
How about elaborating on how DW2 became part of DW1's world? Places like Moonbrooke and Midenhall, as well as Lianport. Did they just not exist yet, or was the Dark World sealed away (shades of DW7)? You should at least be able to see Lianport off to the west of Garinham.
Thank you, SF. :D I'm downloading Hellion right now.
And as for incorporating the world of Dragon Warrior 2, I might be able to do that; it'd definitely make things more interesting, to say the least. I've got an odd theory on how the worlds are connected together, so that would certainly be doable. ^^
