This is a really interesting video of a Megaman 2.5D engine. They take Megaman gamplay and put it in a 2.5D universe. It looks really fun!
I'll try to scrounge up more info.

From a technical perspective, that looks really neat.
From a gameplay perspective, that looks really boring. I hope they spice the levels up with something (preferebly not invisible blocks)

I think it looks pretty neat, but their jumping physics are REALLY BAD. I know, because in early stages of MTR development, the jumping was like that. The falling portion is too sudden and feels awkward.
Looks like fun, although that's an awful lot of work for a 1-Up! I always hated those disappearing block puzzles...
The gimmick works nice in Metal Man's stage, but I wonder what other cool ways it can be implemented... The boss from Wily Stage 1 would be fantastic I think ;D!

author=Magi link=topic=3386.msg67650#msg67650 date=1237849229I found the concept pretty dumb in SPM as well. =[
Reminds me of Super Paper Mario

BM, this is why people just have such a hard time taking you seriously...

Reminds me of Super Paper Mario
That was a terrible game because it didn't have an RPG battle system like the previous two "Paper Mario" titles.
To get back on subject...
This looks really interesting, if I do say so myself, although I do agree that the jumping looks way too sketchy. Either way, I wouldn't mind at least trying this out.
This looks amazing! 8 bit graphics in a semi 3D environment actually looking fun and asthetically pleasing = <3
Super Paper Mario has other problems. Its perspective was not one of them.
