I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.

I can't really remember what I was looking for originally, but somehow I stumbled upon a short book called "The Man Who Planted Trees" written by Jean Giono. The general plot of the book revolves around a man who lives alone in a desert who has a passion for planting trees. As the story progresses, his forest grows very lush. It's an extremely heart warming story that I can reccomend to everybody, but it wasn't really the book on its own that made my jaw drop.

Roughly 30 years after the story was written, an animated version of it was created. Some of you have probably seen it before, I have no idea. I'd never heard of it, yet it is #1 on the imdb short film list. Go figure. Everybodyshould watch the film, because it's the most beautiful piece of animation I've EVER seen. The art style is so unique, and the use of music and sounds is incredible. I was so stunned by the film that I ordered the DVD off amazon. Luckily for all of you, it's on the internet. Do yourself this favor and check it out:

That was awesome and, surprisingly, I actually watched the whole thing inspite of balking at the initial 30min runtime. (It's interesting how youtube and such has created a sort of low attention span thing of people instantly refusing to watch clips over 5mins or so, though)

I'm not comfortable with any idea that can't be expressed in the form of men's jewelry

Was gonna watch this last night, but forgot. I'll check it out when I get home.
Watched it. It was amazing. Though, I couldn't help but try to find references and symbols and stuff like that in it. It was still quite enjoyable. And inspirational. A very touching story.
A very beautiful story and the animation was excellent. The theme is very VERY inspiring and it really cheered me up and makes me want to actually DO something.
Simply an amazing story. Very inspirational and the artwork was well done as was the music.
