In the arena, http://kattaline.mybrute.com/cellule who's only lvl 6 (lvl 7 now) beat like 10 guys and made it to the semi-finals. Everyone else there was lvl 35+.

Either way, are they gained via levels or by some other means?

Yeah, you have to lvl up.
From what I can tell, when you lvl up, you usually get a stat boost and one of a skill, weapon, or animal.

I really need a weapon.
It's all about luck man and it seems the odds are against you, but you do have some nice abilities (They'll come in handy later).
People usually get a weapon at level 3 or 4, so hopefully you get one soon.

The wolf tends to hit more often and multiple times in a row. I'm guessing it also has less HP though.

I've been thinking about this too, but it seems it doesn't since my sister only has 3 fights and she hasn't logged on for days.

Haha. I got a glitched Brute so I'm giving up. I got no ability level up on 2 and the pole stick isn't on my inventory (which I was meant to get on level 3).
