i've downloaded FOUR different versions now, and it's stilll not working. what's the problem? if it is possible, can i please get some step-by-step instructions on how to download this (and where to download a good version of it) i have windows Vista & i'm trying to get RPG Maker XP.

any help is GREATLY appreciated! ;D
Well, be sure to download the legitimate English version, as well as pay $60 USD for the Account Key (or just use the 30 day trial for now.)

If you are running it in Vista, I believe you need to run it in XP Compatibility Mode. Look it up, I'm not sure how to do it.

Oh, also make sure to get the RMXP 1.03 patch from Enterbrain to fix games for Vista.
If you've downloaded it that many times and it's still not working i would suggest paying for the program. It may not be free but at least you know it will work.

Well, both my friends computers dont download it. well, they download it but every time he tries to do ANYTHING on it, an error message comes up. He has one more computer that it works on, but he does not like it because it is real slow.

I (think I) know how to do that.

Step 1. Download the program
Step 2. Right click on the shortcut of RPG Maker XP
Step 3. Click "Properties"
Step 4. Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
Step 4. Click on the box that says: Run this program in compatibility mode for:
Step 5. Scroll down to your cpu's name.
Step 6. Click OK.

Then it might work. I'm just guessing because I have Windows XP, so just try.
