I figured instead of people posting heaps of topics about annouced games or returning faves that I would make a topic covering all the main points and what not that Microsoft, Sony, EA, Nintendo, Activision Blizzard, Valve, etc say.

If you guys don't know Microsoft held one hell of a press conference that I am sooo tired for being woken up to watch it. Probably their biggest announcement was the new FULL BODIED MOTION CONTROL & INTERACTION(Which was shown and proven real as not just speculation and bull shit) for games. Another huge announcement was the instant play movies, TV Shows, in full 1080p HD, no streaming or downloading necessary and with help from Sky TV it shall be released to all main countries by fall of this year I think, oh and at no extra cost, you have gold your golden. On a side note a new Halo game(Called Reach) was announced by Bungie, Versus XIII & MGS aren't exclusive anymore, infact Kojima came on stage and said it himself, but it's not MGS4 it's a new Raiden game and Square didn't say anything aside from "It's not exclusive anymore" but you can take a guess at that one and be right on the $$$$$.

Now I guess I'll go onto the true purpose of the show and that is.. Games.

Left 4 Dead 2
Debut Teaser

Overview:
Left 4 Dead 2 is the sequel to the best-selling and critically-acclaimed co-operative multiplayer smash from Valve, creators of the Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike game properties. Left 4 Dead 2 promises to become one of 2009's top-selling games and set a new benchmark for co-operative action games. The title adds melee combat to the award-winning L4D style of play, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more.

Introducing the AI Director 2.0, L4D's dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players' performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.

Finally, with new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, maps for Survival mode at launch, and more.

Supported by a $10+ million marketing campaign, Left 4 Dead has sold over 2.5 million retail copies since it was released in November of 2008. Left 4 Dead 2 is targeted for release on Xbox 360 and the PC this November, and will be launched worldwide with a multi-million dollar marketing campaign across TV, Outdoor and Online.

Setting:

Left 4 Dead 2 is set at roughly the same time as the original â€" just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. Players assume the role of 4 new “Survivors,” each with their own personality and new dialog. The game leads these “Survivors” through the southeastern region of the US - from Savannah, Georgia thru the bayou country, and climaxing in New Orleans' French Quarter.

Product Features:

Next generation co-op action gaming from the makers of Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike.

Splinter Cell Conviction
Gameplay footage

Ive never really been into this series but after seeing that gameplay and how the creators were saying it's much darker(Anyone seen Taken.. It reminded me a LOT of that, awesome movie though go rent/download/whatever some time) and the mission objectives showing on screen when playing is a good idea, makes it so it doesn't take you away from the game. Comes out this fall I think they said and I'm honestly looking forward to it now.

Will update with more info later.

Crackdown 2
Annoucement Trailer

The sequel to Microsoft's hit open-world crime-fighting game has some new features.

Microsoft's press release for new games coming up for Xbox 360 included some surprises regarding Ruffian Games' Crackdown 2. The company announced that it will enable both cooperative and competitive gameplay modes and what seems to be a harder edge. The press release states that the game will allow "you and your friends with the complete freedom to explore, destroy and play as you return to restore justice and peace to Pacific City - by any means necessary."

Microsoft released artwork and a trailer for Crackdown 2, but as of yet, no official screenshots.

Halo: Reach & ODST

ODST Gameplay Footage

Bungie today, as expected, announced a new Halo title: Halo Reach.

It's due for release in Fall 2010. I'd love to tell you more, but that's all that was revealed along with a short trailer showing the destruction of Reach, from before the events of the original Halo.

As a bonus for anyone buying Halo: ODST, if you buy the Halo 3 expansion (out September 22), you'll get an invite to the Reach MP beta.

ODST

How many Splinter Cell games are there now? 18?
I actually WANT to like Splinter Cell games, but like a mission or two into the ones I've played I get bored of it. However Conviction looks like a change of pace so hopefully it's got the edge that'll make me keep playing.
Nintendo better reveal a new Zelda game this week or I am going to be needlessly depressed about their showing. =[
I've been planning to watch the conferences live on G4, but I missed everything except for the last game of Microsoft's conference. And I don't have any Dr. Pepper to drink. Shit.
I'm not getting my Wii back even if a new Zelda is released.

Mass Effect 2 (best single player game) and Modern Warfare 2 (best multiplayer game). That's all I want.

I'm bringing this world back for you and for me.

I want ATLUS to reveal about their port of Persona for the PSP and I want Square Enix to announce future plans for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and other future titles. I'm getting an Xbox 360 so I'll be hit with a whole slueth of things, DJ hero looks fun.
Saw the microsoft conference a couple of hours ago. First it was alright showing various Halo stuff, splinter cell, some MGS spinoff title. But when they introduced the natal, shit went downhill.

Microsoft looked at Wii and basically copied the Eyetoy and got a hold of facebook and other stuff. Hell it even makes Wii look hardcore now.

HEY GUISE LET'S MAKE AN ELEPHANT.

I wonder how Nintendo will respond. Hope they don't fuck it up like last year's E3..

Well their conference is in 4 hours. My hopes on a new Mario Game, SOME footage of F-zero Wii, 2D metroid, Mother 3 released in the US, hell even a LoZ Wii. What will probably happen is Wii Sports 3, blah blah blah on how they captured the casual market, Wii Music stuff. But hey, gotta keep my expectations low. :-[

edit:

I DIDNT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT SOLID SNAKE
I thought Natal actually looked pretty interesting, apart from the kinks that were on display in what is obviously in-development software. Speaking of in-development software, the 1 vs 100 Live beta event last night was pretty fucking fun. Me and my friends played the entire time without a single hiccup on our end, and we didn't even notice it was two hours long until it was OVER.

As an MGS nerd, I am definitely looking forward to MGS: Rising, even if Kojima looked so smug I could punch him when he said the aforementioned "I didn't say anything about Solid Snake" line.

Never really got into Splinter Cell, so no comment there.

Ubi's presentation was an absolute disaster. Almost as bad, if not worse, than Nintendo's conference last year. (Although yeah, RS2 looks okay, but where the FUCK were Assassin's Creed II and BG&E2?)

Darken
Mother 3 in the US

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... ahem.

Yeah, keep dreaming on that one, dude. First off, the game's been out for YEARS in Japan, with numerous efforts by the fan community for Nintendo to listen to them, with absolutely no response from them at all. Second off, even if this WEREN'T true, M3 appeals to a very niche audience, one that I highly doubt even Nintendo would pander to in such a widely covered conference.

Just go get the fan translation and the fan-made handbook and call it good.

EDIT: Additionally, if you didn't like the Beatles: Rock Band debut trailer, YOU HAVE NO SOUL.
Nintendo conference in one hour.

Yeah I guess it's kind of stupid to ask for such a late release for Mother 3. But really anything EB/Mother related would do :'(. Also holy shit Ubisoft was so awkward. KOWWWAAAAAABAANNNNGGAAAAAAHHH
FORGET THAT, METROID BY TEAM NINJA HOLY FU-
Super Mario Galaxy 2

New Metroid Game helped by the Ninja Gaiden people

holy shit i just came
Good beginning, CRAP middle (WII VITALITY SENSOR?! Fucking REALLY?!), EXCELLENT end.

SMG2, WM+, Golden Sun, NSMBWii, FF, the DSiWare stuff, and, dare I say it, Sports Resort looked awesome.

The rest... ehhhhh.

EDIT: Eh, the Vitality Sensor might have potential. But godDAMN what a cockblock with Iwata building up for 10 minutes, then "HEY VITALITY SENSOR AHAHAHAHAHAHA".

EDIT2: Also, obviously Metroid. Awww, Reggie just told G4 SMG2 is 2010.
Sony conference is next. So far Nintendo > Microsoft. I thought Nintendo was going to go to shit from Cammie being one of the speakers. But I guess not. They actually got their shit together.

I pretty much had a baby in IRC when they showed Metroid.

All in all, I approve of the conference mostly. A lot of GOOD STUFF coming Nintendo's way.

Basically this! I fucking burst out laughing during that VIVALITY thing. Although, the Metroid video was pretty wonderful, so I can quickly forgive them.

Also, almost a tiny bit angry that there was no Wii Zelda announcement, but maybe that's just asking for too much? Hehe.
