I shalt roll the magic prophecy dice to divine which maker thou art using.

Ahhh... I see thou art using RM95. Alas! I can be of no service to thou. 'Tis even more archaic than my dialect I am afraid, thou should quest for a newer engine.
At least thou hast posted in the correct kingdom, the realm of answers.

Dude, quit that.
Alright, this should work regardless of your maker:
Make a Conditional Branch*.
Set it to any switch you choose, and name in "Named Hero" or something. The switch, that is.
Make the conditional branch use that switch.
If the switch is ON, then put the message for after they've named their character.
If the switch of OFF, have them name their character, and the turn the switch ON.
That means, once you've named your character, the event will say something else.
@GOGP: Take thee a tutor to improve thine Anglo-Saxon!

I see thou 'useth' a differing regional dialect. (For example, thee was only used in some dialects)
Also, just incase your using Rm2k, the 'enter hero name' function doesn't work in most translations.
