DESTROYING RTP IN VX: NEED HELP

Hail,

I prefer the RTP, or at least the general look of 2k3 in terms of graphics. Or else, maybe even ripping ressources from FF6 or whatever.

I wanted to know if you have any template to change them? What are the difference in terms of format or lenght? Both for characters sets and tilesets.

Take Craze's Demon Tower, it's an VX game with rm2k3 graphics. He just doubled the size. VX is basically double the resolution so it may look weird if you just imported the graphics from rm2k3 directly.

Charsets are basically the same width/height ratio, except the character facings are switched around. (Theres a program that fixes the facings to VX floating around)

Chipsets are a little weird, first of all the autotile sets(grass and water) are 2 by 2 instead of 3 by 3. Look at the resource specifications in the help file for more on that. But yeah Demon Tower has all of that figured out, so you can use it as a template.

Monsters, animations, and are pretty much the same. As for battle backgrounds just find a script somewhere that sets it. Remember the resolution is 544 x 416 for title/game over screens and such.

This'll be handy when I eventually start VX'ing. Good to know it shouldn't be too hard.
