FASHION, STYLE, AND HOW MUCH YOU SPEND ON IT.

WOAH how did I miss this topic?
actually being serious I kinda feel a bit lazy if I am not dressed nicely. it feels good to make an effort, you know? whatever I like feeling beautiful
Believe it or not, you can like looking 'good' (whatever that is) and it can have absolutely nothing to do with how other people perceive you.yeah, this is absolutely true.. but not for me! I like looking good to impress the ladies 8)

Most days I wear T-SHIRT AND JEANS with various accessories, but sometimes I dress a little nicer/more in vogue, usually when a guy is interested in me and I don't want to look like... a rural Mainer. I'm not really into fashion although I don't dismiss it entirely except that I want to burn all A&F and AE stores for making fugly shirts that have a tendency to turn on my douchebagdar.
yeah actually in a similar way I do not pay much attention to fashion and just wear things that I think looks great rather than what yves st. laurent thinks or whomever. fashion is so full of bullshit anyway ::)
I'll post some xXx~style pics~xXx some time

I like having hair down to at least my collarbone. Shorter "long" styles are kind of regular and I think dudes looked cooler in the 70s and 80s (and 1700s) with longer hair. I also like having bangs but not EMO BANGS more like the ones a girl would have.
Jeans are good for most times, but I also like other fabrics in dark colors for looking nicer. Leather pants are always good for the stage but I haven't performed in a few years. I like tshirts but only if something is over them, otherwise they are kind of plain by themselves. I love all sorts of jackets, long and short cuts. Anything from like prim finely cut velvet ones to regular green ARMY JACKET is cool.
And sometimes I feel like wearing a miniskirt 8)

I buy my clothes at Costco. My ideal clothing is a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Socks are annoying.
I shop at Topman and am not proud of it
topman used to be really great but for a while it has been non-stop new-rave even when that hasn't been around for a while :(
also this preppy bullshit looks so awful >:(

I'm kind of poor right now so I have been doing a lot of thrift store shopping. You can find some really decent stuff in there for dirt cheap! So I guess I don't really have a particular style, just whatever I can get from there.
I guess I should also mention I only get t-shirts from there, I buy my jeans at wal-mart.

I dunno, I think a lot of people use "Fashion is expensive and arrogant" as an excuse to be lazy defend their own lack of style.
Like, even jeans and a t can be STYLISH if you just do it right. Like a cheap pair of shoes or hat or sunnies or some shit can make it look like "HEY WHAT A COOL GUY!". I guess it does depend a bit on what kind of a look you are going for. Obviously, if you work in a professional-type office, it'll probably be harder to be stylish and do it without spending too much. Doable still, though.

My favorite post in this topic. Especially the first part. "X thing is stupid because I feel I can't do or possess it!" That is the retort of an insecure person.
I don't do much for style really. I'm not above buying trendy t-shirts if they're for things that I adore, like the classic Legend of Zelda t-shirt they were selling at Wal-Mart. My family likes to buy me trendy shirts for things like alcohol and the TV show The Office, and I guess I wear those. As a college student and a frat member I've also accumulated many t-shirts that way (college is all about free t-shirts); I feel like I've got too many at this point.
I'm a fan of those khaki shorts where they have the strings at the waist and near the knees that you can tie into knots or just let loose. I like to let them loose. I look unique in those because nobody else bothers to look like an idiot ;).

I have punk band T-shirts because I like punk bands, and I have dickies and shorts by skate companies.
Currently Satori corduroys and a Slapstick T-shirt.
I don't really care about fashion, so I'm glad to have found something that's easy and I feel comfortable in.

xis over-rated because I don't like / understand it
I was thinking of that post when I made it. Yeah, while there are legitimate reasons to dislike something or to not be interested in something, it's a common defense mechanism to dismiss something because you've never done it or feel you're not good at it.
"I CAN'T AFFORD A PS3/360/WII BUT THEY'RE NOT THAT GREAT ANYWAY NEXT GEN CONSOLES SUCK"
"I'VE NEVER HAD SEX/I'VE ONLY HAD SEX ONCE BY THE SKIN OF MY TEETH IT'S OVERRATED ANYWAY"
"I HATE MATH I'M NOT GOOD AT IT BUT WHO CARES MATH IS LAME"
"I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRESS/CAN'T AFFORD IT BUT WHO CARES PEOPLE INTO THAT STUFF ARE ARROGANT ANYWAY"
Textbook, man.

ftr I dislike american eagle-type styles, but a well-dressed person is always more attractive than someone in (plain) jeans and a john deere t-shirt.
Note that tight jeans change everything.

Some people seem to assume dressing with style needs a person to spend hundreds of dollars on it, there are many interesting and stilish brands/clothes that are much more original than regular jeans/shirt and they are not expensive.
I don't really buy much stuff because my income is rather small, but when I can I get to buy some nice original jeans or shirt/t-shirt that look very good, and are not expensive at all.
Saying that most people that care on how they look are vain is a HUGE generalization, it's like hen we hear that everyone that playus videogames are 40 year old guys living in their parent's house basement, are fat use glasses and full of zits in their skin.
I usually wear regular semi tight/fit jeans and the same for shirts, being somewhat lean and defined, I think I look better with fit clothes than with huge ones. But even in my style I try to wear nice jeans and nice shirts, you know? (and a nice jacket to go out) It's not to impress the people around me (I doubt they are anyways) but it's to feel nice to myself too.

Clothing is overrated. Skin, hair, SPF 5000 in the summer, and a furnace in the winter will protect you from the elements where I live.
I have never heard anyone say had sex and by the skin of my teeth in the same sentence; most people don't consider the skin of teeth as very important during oral.
