SOMETHING ON MY MIND.

Have you ever heard a familiar BGM from an RM game and look at their BGMs to find out that they changed the music name to something else when you know it came from a commercial game. Like for example, a song from Final Fantasy (?) song has been changed into "Blah Blah Village."
I was wondering, is this alright to do even thought the music is coming from, oh let's say, VGmusic or Midi Shrine? I am sort of a organize freak, so I kinda want to do it, but I don't know if it is wrong.

I don't really see what's wrong with renaming your midis or whatever, I don't really know what's the point of saying "THAT'S WRONG TO DO" when looking through another game's folder.
I rename my placeholder files for obvious reasons.
Duty-free resources also get changed to stuff like Fire_Animation, functional names, you know.
MP3s and such are usually renamed, with an accompanying .txt with music credits.

Alright, thanks. I never found it wrong personally, but I didn't know if it was frown upon by whatever reason people do or not.

Where'd that come from?
Personally I don't really care, its really easy to trace the original source especially with midis. You can open up the specific midi with Anvil Studio or some other program, and the name the game its from is usually there. As for MP3s theres usually the author thing attached to them, but I put a txt file for credits anyway.
It can be annoying when someone puts: "Name of Their Game - Song Name" as if the song was original or something (when it's not). I don't really care if its named: "whatever it's named for organized purposes" though.

I use whatever the filename is when I download it. Makes for difficulty finding the song I want sometimes, but I'm too lazy to change it.
