FINAL FANTASY X-2

I know I've made a bajillion of these topics, but you guys give games feedback as a hobby, so I figured I'd go to you first. I've been playing the crap out of Final Fantasy X for the past week or so and I'm adoring it so far. My only qualm is Lulu's obnoxious costume, but other than that the game is fantastic. I was just wondering if the sequel (is it a sequel? I'm not sure...) was just as good.
The game's presentation and plot is as girly and homo as they come. But it boasts the best gameplay of the entire series.

It's somewhat fun to play if it doesn't annoy you to death. Sorry man, everytime Rikku opened her mouth, I wanted to take a sledgehammer to the tele.

Start -> Skip Scene.

Samurai -> Momentum

That should carry you through the game. Also, Nooj is a pimp.

Having a signature is too mainstream. I'm not part of your system!

They totally screwed over Blitzball but at least Sphere Break was fun.
X-2 is one of the best entries in the FF series.

To clarify: The only appropriate use of the ATB system, wonderful post-X worldbuilding, sidequest-oriented gameplay with things you do or don't do having an effect on later things, replayability, a light feel that appealed to me, and some fun minigames. Main plotline and lack of challenge are the weakest links of the whole package.
The gameplay in this game is so great. However getting the best ending takes completing the game 100%.
Which is so hard to do. I have played almost 110 hours and I still only have like 96%.

Have anyone ever beat this game 100%?
100% is easy, do two playthroughs. In one playthrough it is a nightmare. I did it anyway

Fuck Shinra and his 5-star sphere. Seriously.
I proper enjoyed X-2 after rebuying it and getting over myself. I was in the mindset of taking it seriously(especially the story) and all I could think about was how ridiculous it was. But once i stopped thinking about it as a sequel I really enjoyed it.

Though Yuna changed for the worse man..for the worse..
she tries to act all badass - it would be funny...but it's not.
OI. I really liked this one, regardless what other people thought of it. I just saw it as another game when I bought it...and no other thoughts entered my head. I think reading too much forum has started to affect me, though. =\

Still, I really liked it. Story was light-hearted and nice, gameplay was awesome, and the entire experience was just great.
As a fan of class systems, i think this is the best useage of them on the whole series. Also, graphics are shiny and beautiful (copy of FFX, almost... Even so) and the story... Was fun. Light. Yes, i am quite full of rotting shinra mako-reactor full worlds, or people dying out of a zombifying ill.
Although as far as I know FFX-2 is just a fandisc for the fans except they screw up Yuna
It looks fun though, I'd like to play it.
Have you guys ever played Final Fantasy VII? Unfortunately I've never been able to play it and I wanna know what you guys think of the legend.
The other great FF!

Plot has a number of minor and major holes on closer examination (yes, the Shinra army TOTALLY needs the Tiny Bronco) with translation not helping, but I really like the characters and certain plot points regardless. Hopelessly dated character graphics don't stop the numerous locales you visit during the game from still looking good either, which adds to the sense of, well, epic adventure that I get from this game. Gameplay system is very good and something still not done since, but unfortunately has EXTREMELY easy enemy balancing. Lack of challenge is easily the biggest flaw here.

I don't get it. Everyone was supposed to hate X-2. Since when did you guys become so tolerant? ;(

...never really got to play much of X-2 outside of a few hours mucking around after the intro/brother's save. I liked the light-heartedness of the whole thing. Also "Sphere Hunter Seagull Group" is one of my favourite songs ever - not kidding.

One of the reasons I miss having a PS2. :(
At the time (September 7th, 1997, or September 5th for me because release dates weren't so strict yet), it was something amazing. Playing the game just seemed magical and awesome. It was just like Final Fantasy VI, but the graphics were amazing and the story was "mature". It lost a lot of things VI had, but I don't think many people noticed when it came out.

Now it's one of the better Final Fantasy games, but VI and Tactics are much better than it. Isn't this like the fourth Final Fantasy you've asked opinions about? What RPGs have you been playing before this week?
I don't play many games Canuck. I'm one of those people that only buys and plays the best they can get, hence all of the topics asking for opinions of games. If a game is sub-par to me, I immediately return it and get a better (looking) game.
I suppose that's the safe way to go, but you have to admit its kinda neurotic. Just go with your gut!
I don't have much money. I can't afford to. :(
