RMXP AND WINDOWS VISTA: HELP!

I've been having a bit of a problem recently.
The last time I've used RPG Maker XP, I had Windows XP as my operating system, but recently I've gotten a new computer with windows Vista on it and I installed RMXP on my computer so I could pick up where I last left off.
The problem I'm having is, Vista won't let me run the program at all. I keep getting this error message right away telling me that The program has encountered a problem and must close. Windows is now going to try to find out why. After the short wait it then tells me. Windows found a problem and the program has been closed. It doesn't tell me what, or why, or how I can fix it. I tried running the program as if I were using Xp, or any other version of windows, I've tried running as administrator, but I'm stumped.
Any help available please?
Thanks ;)

Weird. I know RMXP had some minor problems on Vista, but I've seen many people run it. No ideas here.
The patch won't work unless I can actually manage to get the program to execute. It's not some bug that crashes, it just doesn't run at all. (Don't worry, I've tried patching a few times)
When I had Vista for about a week (disaster), I ran RMXP in Windows95 compatibility mode and it worked. Were you having the "nTitles Server" error? If sure, make sure your internet connection is up and that you are in Windows95 compatibility mode.
If that doesn't help you then your problem is much more mysterious!
