MOVING MOUNTAINS

Not the Usher song. Moving Mountains is a post-rock group that originated in New York. I saw them in concert (well, a bar with a stage) a few weeks ago and they were amazing. Along with the punk rock back Parts Per Million (which, I might add, is also pretty dang good) they opened for this screamo Nightwish-meets-Creed band. They had a nice crowd for the two openers. When Moving Mountains was done with their set, the crowd just cheered em on for an encore. So they played the best ending song, but had to cut it short because the venue was getting pissed--much to the discontent of the audience. When they were done, I bet seventy-five percent of the crowd left.

All their songs are good except With One's Heart in One's Mouth. Ode We Will Bury Ourselves is that awesome ending I was talking about.

Bars with stages are often the best kind of concert.
Yeah, so I've learned. The lead singer of Parts Per Million walked down and talked with us. Cool dude.
yeah I am gonna see Electric Wizard in a similar venue!

Electric Wizard is not only awesome and totally psychedellic, the pairing of the words "Electric" and "Wizard" might be one of the more awesome things in the universe.
Nope, but if they're anything like MM I'll be checking them out shortly. Anything you'd recommend starting out with?

I definitely wasn't expecting the totally epic screams in some of their stuff- I must say, I'm impressed. What's even more impressive is how gentle they are around the screams. Definitely going to pick up some of their stuff soon.
Manchester Orchestra is pretty good. Not on par with Moving Mountains, but still up there. Super cool band bro.
