FAVORITE ANIME MOVIE?
Posts
This is for MOVIES only.
I just wanted to know if anyone here has a favorite anime movie.
Mine is the only one that I've seen, but it's one I grew up watching:
My Neighbor Totoro.
Anyone else have fond memories of this or other anime movies?
I usually don't like anime, (at all) but I've watched this movie since I was four.
We just found it in a box of old VHS movies, and I put it on for my lil' bro.
Sure is bringing back memories...

Whisper of the Heart most definitely. Basically any Studio Ghibli film is great though.
Besides that, the only one I've watched recently is Akira. Not my favorite, but fantastic nonetheless.
"TETSUOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
"KANEDAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!"

The Hellsing movies were pretty good. Haven't seen anything other than that, I want to see Gurren Lagann Crimson Chapter though.
Oh god, this list of must-see animes reminded me of Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise. I absolutely loved that movie. I should watch it again...
Wonderful Days I remember enjoying thoroughly as well.

Akira was a good movie, though I personally prefer the comic book series it's based off of. With a whopping six encyclopedia-sized issues, it's a hell of a lot longer, and because of that, the story was a lot more fleshed out and there were quite a few things that didn't make it into the film.
On the other hand, my favorite anime has got to be Princess Mononoke, It was one of the first anime films I ever saw and my golly, it's what got me into Japanese animation, along with Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and the Adult Swim line-up, back when they had Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, and the 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam series all on the same night.

I haven't really seen a lot of them, and moreless because when anime movies start going around 30 min's or more, it can tend to get a little boring.
It's a tough one, but Sprited Away gets my vote. I remember working at the video store, and when we had no customers in, we would just watch this...hehehehe.

Totoro I think.
I really like quite a few Ghibli films and a few of the early Lupin III films as well.

post=94111This! As well as Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, The Cat Returns and Kai Do Maru. KDM is pretty short, but it's very sad and touching. Most of Ghibli's movies are really great - Kiki's Delivery Service was cute and Laputa was pretty fun too. Also The Grave of the Fireflies was very sad.
Perfect Blue.
There was also one about kids that had wings that I remember being really good too - and some of the Lupin III ones are worth watching.
