What's your resin process look like, start to finish? Obviously, I'm not expecting paragraphs. ;D
On a side note- I realize I'm just a stupid Yank, but it's really nice to see "fibre" spelled right for once.

Well, first of all, we mix some of the resin with liquid hardener and literally paint it on the outside and leave that to dry so the piece can withstand step two. In step two, we take a mat sheet of the glass, cut it up into small strips, mix up some more resin, dip the strips into the resin then put them inside the piece, making sure to push them into all the corners and such (one strip at a time of course).
Once the inside is glassed it should be quite durable, we can then move onto painting it, adding padding inside, and in the case of the helmet, fitting a visor XD

I've skipped the bondo stage due to a lack of time and funds. I might make a second suit next year using HD pep files which I'll definately bondo.
The stripe along the middle of the head was supposed to be a different colour, but the colour on the can was a lot lighter than the colour that came out - there's almost no difference XD

Will you have your body in the cosplay, or will it just be a statue? If it's a costume, how will you see?

Thats a good question Relyt. It is hard to say given the meaning of the word "cosplay" and the various pictures of him wearing the actual suit and the possibility of a see through visor.

The latest pics from this page all show the visor area's been cut out, we're going to be installing gold tinted visors soon to see through. Just a matter of finding one that colour now.

Also, the two halves of my chest piece primed, though the back kinda warped a bit. On this timeframe I don't really have time to make another, so I'm gonna just hafta work with what I have.

I finally got my visor fitted today so my helmet is 100% done! The chest piece has been painted, need to touch up the black areas and do some detailing in the morning.

Fuck do I wish I had the time, money, and motivation for something like this. I would show up to school as the master cheif, just for lols.
God damn, completed helmet looks epic as all hell. Can't wait to see the chestplate finished. What are you wearing under all of this?
On an off note, I'd really like to see someone (with a huge budget, mind) attempt a full-on shiny, polished (think sports cars) fibreglass version of some of the achievement armour from Halo 3. Like the Hayabusa armour.

That would be awesome indeed. I'd actually like a pilot helmet more though. Don't know if thats the right name, the one with a spherical dome on it, like a spacesuit.
And btw this is intense cosplay talent.
