RTP SPRITES AND HAND-DRAWN FACES/ENEMY BATTLE SPRITES?

Is this a bad combination?
Because my friend loves to draw people, and my brother loves drawing monsters.
Their art styles are different, (my brother goes crazy with colored pencils,(He's good, but our scanner is crap); and the face artist just uses pencil,) but do you think they would contradict too much?
or would it look okay?
Would having Greyscale face sprites bother you?

Discuss.
Can't really tell unless you show screenshots... no way to judge if there's consistency by merely a description like that.
That would contrast pretty badly. Having two different artists and RTP.
Consistency with graphics is the best way to go if you can.
Two artists is acceptable if:

1) They can match styles (rare skill for both amateur and professional artists).

2) The things they are working on are very different (such as animated cutscenes, face art and monsters).
It would help if you would show a sample of what y'all currently have.
he said that one will draw the faces and the other is drawing monsters

RTP sprites usually look ok with hand drawn facesets and monsters (people like me and Craze use Etoiler's hand drawn monsters and facesets with non hand drawn character sprites and maps and the games look fine)

pretty much the only thing in your game where you can't mix hand drawn custom graphics with RTP is character sprites and map tiles. because they are always occupying the same "plane" they need to be similar in thier style

but like the others have said we'd need to see some screenshots or some examples of what these guys will make for you to be sure

my guess is that as long as one of them is doing just monsters and the other is doing just facesets then it will look good
Just as long as you kind of outline it in a program (like photoshop) and clean it up a bit.
