I was just wondering, is there a way to stop the victory theme from looping? My one lasts for 10 seconds but it starts over again and it sounds a bit annoying! :P

HOW TO ADD SILENCE TO STUFF THAT SHOULDNT LOOP:

.MID files:

Use a midi notation program (finale, cakewalk, midisoft studio, sibelius) and add a Crap load of empty measures with a silent note at the end of the last measure. Midi files are always small, so don't worry about adding ~100 empty measures. Even if there are empty measures at the end, RPGmaker will automatically loop the first and last actual note. So you need to include a silent note at the end of the last empty measure.

Digital Audio files: MP3, WAV, OGG:

Easy to do. Any digital audio editor (most standard custom sound cards come with one in their software package) can add silence to the end of tracks. Heck, Windows comes with a wav editor that can do this. This is more risky since digital silence adds a lot to filesize. Add 10-15 seconds tops.

OR:

To avoid this paradox altogether (since I use digital audio exclusively now) I just write battle themes that are enjoyable to listen to repeatedly, and don't include victory jingles. I just keep playing the battle theme through the whole sequence.

I don't have a clue on how to use any of those software and I don't really think it's worth the hassle. I'll stick to the longer tracks.

Thanks for your lengthy and useful response.
