FINAL FANTASY III, NO, NOT THE ONE WITH KEFKA (CEFCA)
Posts
Let's discuss Final Fantasy III. You know, the one that was released in Japan in 1990, and released on the Nintendo DS in 2006. The one with four kids in some cave, finding crystals to get jobs, and on some weird flying continent that makes me wonder why the water on it never fell off to the world below.
Gweeh, it isn't a bad game, but the parts were you have to shrink in order to proceed were terrible x__X
I enjoyed it for a while - then it started to get a bit harder after i went to the world below. I put it down for a while, and my fiance played it instead. Basically, she usually overlevels, but even then - the last dungeon consists of you going through this giant maze dungeon, before finally being able to enter the ACTUAL final dungeon, and the final dungeon is huge and hard as hell, and there's no way to save. she got to cloud of darkness and couldn't BEAR going through the whole thing again after she died.
Atfer I heard that - I didn't even want to play anymore.

I occasionally play the DS version on long car rides, but I'm not interested enough to play it regularly. In fact now that I own better games I don't think I'll ever touch it again. >_>
Yeah it's not my style.

The intro movie looked impressive, but it takes more than a good intro movie to make a good game. And they should've used a more updated MP system or at least add some items like an ether :/
Played it when I only had FF3DS and Children of Mana, and if I had other games I probably wouldn't have gotten to the same place as Hextona's fiance: Saved after the ancient maze (which is more long paths than any sort of maze), did not-final dungeon (ran from everything because the difficulty:rewards was absolute shit and doing this dungeon multiple times really kills any motivation to fight these guys), killed not-final boss, watched unskippable cutscene, entered real final dungeon (again ran from everything), killed four bosses to make the last possible, got killed after the final boss mixed up its turn order so it got two particle beams off back to back without a chance to heal.
I'll probably never play it again. The dungeons are mostly boring, the classes aren't interesting, and bosses who can oneshot your healer from max health with no save points anywhere close to said fight are just fustrating.

I beat the final boss on my first try. It isn't anywhere near my favorite DS game, but I enjoyed hating it for a while. It has the worst job system out of any FF, though.
I played a ROM and I played the DS version and I never really got into it.
I'll download it for VC soon though probably, and give it another try.

I should've specified. In Japan it is. I - IV are.
FF3 has some of the best boss battle music in the series. That was a major perk to the game (the music, that is).
I've played roms of it when I was younger and found it pretty cool. Not as good as the first but still pretty alright. Never finished it though

This is pretty much my statement... thanks for taking my comment, GET OUT OF MY HEAD.

Lawl, Mary can read your mind ;)
And yeah, the boss music is great *,*
But the PSP remix from FF1 is even better...
I'm playing it now on the side while I play through Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and I'm enjoying the difficulty level, especially once you get used to specialising into jobs for specific situations. It's an easy game to go wrong with though, especially if you've never had to play a game with traditional toughness levels intact (thing Dragon Quest style!)
