2005, the Blair Witch Projecty one.
And umm okay. Haven't seen Nosferatu quite yet, maybe I'll add it to the list!

I own only The Ring and 28 Days Later, the latter of which I have yet to see (bought it used for $2). Not really into horror movies! But I'll be with you guys in spirit as I intend to watch a ton of Kung Fu flicks in October!
Have you guys seen "Death of a Ghosthunter"?
Nope, and I can't tell if it'll be good or just another screamer movie from the trailer. I'll be sure to check it out though!
Which reminds me, Paranormal Activity better get a wide release soon. It's not playing anywhere near me.

Oh yeah, I was thinking about seeing that. Has anyone yet?
I've only seen Ringu, but I hear The Ring's one of the best (read: only decent) American J-horror remakes out there. Avoid the sequel.
I recommend the Others and [rec] for you people out there. Also for Halloween theme try to find Murder Party it was pretty fun :D
And I really want to see the Orphanage except of course that the DVD release doesn't have proper subtitles (fuck you cinema mondo and your inability to provide Swedish subtitles)
I'll see if I can get my hands on some horror films to watch but I'm not generally the type that seeks out horror and horror is one of those genres that aren't much fun to rewatch (except for zombie action horror of course but you know the regular suspense horror. The good kind. Not the bad kind.)

Happiness of the Katakuris
I am so glad this is at the top of the list.
Also, let's not rule out our decaying friends- all the Zombi movies. Maybe Shawn of the Dead/Hot Fuzz (bonus points for double feature) for good measure.
I would add that Ringu is one of my favourite j-horror films. I think the best part is the complete lack of gore. It pulls it all off with such class, and is actually psychologically scary, rather than bombarding the viewer with imagery of blood and entrails. That's startling, not frightening.
Shinan, I really liked The Others. Definitely a fun movie.
Not the same kind of horror as most of the j-Horror stuff getting suggested, but I think Chuck Heston is the king of oldschool psych-horror mindfuck movies.

Soylent Green is one of my favorite sci-fi/dystopian future movies. You've got my recommendation on that as well. Haven't seen The Omega Man yet, but it's probably better than I am Legend.
Oh yeah, I also own The Mothman Prophecies. I think it came out around the same time as The Others (which I also enjoyed) which made me think of it.
