I tried reading Twilight...couldn't make past chapter 2.
I love books, I really really love books - fantasy books the most. I've read many crappy fantasy books just for the shits and giggles (and because they were there!).
I read Twilight. It was alright, an okay escape in my opinion, nothing mindblowing, but not too bad. I figured I'd get the next two when they came out. Read New Moon, okay, not great, but okay.
I couldn't read more than the first few chapters of the next one. Needless to say, it has to be pretty bad if I can't read it. Really.
I'm a bibliophile of a pretty high order. I hate the idea of scrapping books - I save the books that are bound for the scrapheap at work. Doesn't matter the condition or what the book is, I'll save it from that evil recycling bin if I can. Books are knowledge and ideas made physical, precious pieces of art that should be cared for and cultivated for the generations to come.

It's really hard to take YM seriously considering the logic behind it.

You seem to be under the impression that he's saying the books are good.
It's not the hating I'm bothered about more than the quite vocal bashing I see often on the internet (indeed I have a couple of friends who do like Twilight but there are either a) teenage girls or b) gay - the rest don't talk about it). Surely there are better things to talk about than how sick you are of something you've probably never watched/read you know? Because it should be taken for granted, if you're a straight teenage male that you hate its guts (not debating stereotypes here but it's not a wrong assumption to make, no?).
