I think this is pretty cool. Sohmer and Lars (writer and artist of Least I Could Do and LFG) are setting up a scholarship for aspiring webcomicteers*. The scholarship is a full tuition for a person that wants to get into webcomics at the The Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont.
Do you know of any cool/nifty/unique/awesome scholarships? Have you been awarded any? What would be a cool (serious) scholarship to receive/give?

I actually missed the registration deadlines for two study abroad scholarships for high school students this year so this is quite the "):" topic for me. Hope I get one eventually.

I was on full academic scholarship from the U of Regina because I had the highest average in my class in highschool. It required that you keep up a 75% avg/semester. I graduated with a 90% average in university. I was then awarded an NSERC (National Science and something something council) scholarship for $17,000/yr to take my masters. I started but then landed a job in a high tech IT firm.
90% at uni level? Are you some kind of secret genius?
Also I wish I got paid for getting good grades. :(

I've heard of this scholarship where you and your date have to make an entire suit and dress out of duct tape and wear it to prom, take pictures, and send them in and whoever they pick as the winner gets like $5000 or somethin like that.

I get 4 A's at A Level and all I get is "you can do better" :(
But...you literally can't do better than 4 As.
Did I say A Level I meant AS Level whoops.
Well I didn't get near-full marks in any of them unlike many of the other smart students (read: half of the year) And having Asian parents doesn't help.
By the way they're introducing A* grades this year :(

I know. Which makes it even suckier for me. Theyve predicted me all top marks, which i know for sure im not going to get.
For one i got zero in my chemistry isa(which i kind of saw coming to be honest. Chemistry is way over my head), which made me feel very stupid :(
Oh I thought you'd just finished A2 for some reason. Yeah there's no way I'm getting anything close to two A*'s either. ;(

Even if you completely fail(which isn't going to happen..) so long as you have a supportive family it'll be okay.
I'm contemplating art college after this year anyway. I hate sixth form with a passion. The only subject worth staying for is maths. History's okay too i suppose.
