Hey guys, i've been sat here for about 4 hours researching different kinds of laptops, and all that's happened is my brain has managed to get even more confused than normal and i'm now tired.

One laptop did seem to get a lot of good reviews, the macbook pro, but i don't know how much i like macs, we had them in the art department and they seemed very confusing(though tbh i couldnt get past the single clicking mouse). I'm sure i'd get used to it though, if it's worth it.
I was wondering if any of you had brilliant laptops you wanted to recommend? Anyone with a macbook pro? I'm just looking for an all-rounder, but itd be good if i could use photoshop and play games on it(with a decent speed).

Please don't tell me to use google, or i'll cry. Thanks in advance! :D

Also! What's with all the notebooks? I can't seem to find a normal laptop in this day and age.

welcome to my world, i have been looking around too. if you don't want to remortgage your house don't get a macbook. there is no reason to get a mac if you are not a crybaby mac fan (and i am assuming you are not :D) and they are extortionately priced, so i'd advise getting a mid-range laptop for your needs, preferably with windows 7 for the improved software compatibility. avoid vista for this exact reason.

tbh i couldnt get past the single clicking mouse

there are mouse settings you can change :)

one last point: take everybody's advice with a pinch of salt! because all users are different and have different requirements for their system.

Well, the macbook pro 13inch is about Â£799 which isn't too bad(my mum's treating me because i did well in my exams, also she'd get it as a joint birthday/xmas thing(i dont like having my birthday close to xmas very much...)) so the price isn't that much of a problem.

Okay, i'll start looking around again for something with windows 7. Thanks for the advice :)

I like saying Â£799. It makes it sound cheaper than just a quid off. Saying that, it's $999 in America, but Â£799 here. :(
I didn't think that was all that expensive, but maybe it is...I'd think that it would be something that's worth it though.

the macbook pros are actually amazing. they do take a little getting used to if you've been a pc user your whole life, but still, everyone i know who has one of the new ones is damn happy with it.

that said, fuck macs, get a cheaper, more customizable pc and put linux on it.

I don't get why people say PCs are more most likely to get viruses. I've been using Windows XP with no antivirus whatsoever and I never had a virus problem. (Unless that's not what you meant.)

if you're a windows user and get a virus, you are not smart enough to own a pc.
i've only ever had one virus problem and i've been using the same tower for 5 going on 6 years. quick system restore and all was golden.
