NEED COMPUTER HELP (MAC)

My mac won't read my WEP password for my wireless internet, so right now my internet is not password protected. Online is said that I can use WPA something or other, but how would I set that up? I set up the WEP password through a link I got from my (Japanese) internet provider. Or how could I check who has logged onto my internet? Would taht also be through a website provided to me by my provider? I could see if people are using my internet and block them I guess.

Really fucked these WEP things don't work. They work on my PSP and my Ipod Touch.
What do you use for your wireless set up? Most wireless LAN units keep a log you can check. The IP for the router depends on the model but most are like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.0. Google the model you have. The default user/password is often admin/admin or admin/<blank>

Once you're in your admin console you might be able to toy around with the settings.
that wasn't funny the first time it was done back in 1985 and it still isn't

I think it was probably funny the first time, but I was only a newborn so I can't be sure

Not everything can read WEP keys. I don't think DSes can (or maybe that's WPA?).

But like ken said, if you can access your router via the address bar, it'll probably be something like 192.168.1.1 or similar. My old one was 192.168.2.1 (belkin) so you sometimes have to play around. The password for most routers defaults to username: blank password: admin (NOT the other way around) but it can be any combination. Once you're on the settings page it's pretty much different (including terminology) for every router. Try hitting the tabs until you find the security type tab, then just following the prompts it's usually pretty straightforward, but if it isn't, you can usually find loads of people who have had similar issues via google. If that fails, just take screenshots of your router control panel and paste them here and we can try to direct you through the steps.
Your router IP should be your gateway (no idea how to find that on a Mac)

Also WEP is the more standard encryption (DS`s can`t read WPA), except its been cracked and if anybody wanted to access a WEP network it wouldn`t take them long (no source because I`m too lazy to google it, could be wrong)

WPA is the current standard for wireless network security, WEP is just still in use because older hardware and/or software don't support WPA. If you have a choice, use WPA.
