CloseWho doesn't love finding easter eggs in games? These hidden treasures are so delightful!
So, which easter eggs do you favour the most? Do you include easter eggs or subtle jokes in your games?
My favourite is playing around with the birds in MGS2, like shooting/tranquilizing/punching the seagulls, and spraying coolant on the parrot ._.

I remember those heady days back in 90's and late 80's. programmers seemed to compete with each other with more and more elaborate easter eggs. Frickin Excel had a flight simulator! And nobody noticed!
Sim (copter?) had this special area you could fly to that was filled with naked men.
Starsiege: tribes had a training mission that had a special area in it that could only be opened after several minutes had passed. It was called Griffin Town.
Sadly, I think Easter Eggs are a dying phenomenon in games...
And yes, I plan on putting a few secret areas into my game, once I get near completion.

Sadly, I think Easter Eggs are a dying phenomenon in games...
I think it's more that easter eggs are more obvious nowadays. They're not secrets they're more like "stuff that only a select number of people will get"
Such as an obscure reference in names or spraytags on walls or newspaper headlines or other stuff that are hidden in plain sight so when you understand them (which, in the end, moste people will) you feel a bit more like you're one of the cool guys.
When I think of Easter Eggs, I almost unanimously think of secret rooms that are hard to get to, or hidden in some faraway place you wouldn't normally go.
Like... that secret room made in Legend of Zelda: link to the past, or..or.. gah, i can't think of any!
sadly, www.eeggs.com is less about easter eggs and more about references and codes.
I guess I feel that easter eggs should make you feel like you done something awesome by finding them.
