ASSASSINS CREED 2

The game picks up immediately after the events of Assassin's Creed with Desmond staring at cryptic messages on his bedroom wall. Desmond has synced with his ancestors so much, a "bleeding effect" has started to form, granting him the abilities of Altaïr. He escapes Abstergo with fellow assassin Lucy Stillman. They come to a nearby warehouse where Stillman reveals she and a new team have been working on a new device, the Animus 2.0. Desmond will view the memories of Ezio through the new machine.
The game takes place in late 14th century and early 15th century in Italy during the Renaissance, approximately 300 years after the first game took place. Like Assassin's Creed, characters based on historical figures will be present in the game including Leonardo da Vinci, Niccolò Machiavelli, Caterina Sforza, Lorenzo de' Medici, the Pazzi Family, and Pope Alexander VI. Unlike Altaïr, whose ring finger was amputated as a sign of the Creed, Ezio's has not; his finger bears a ring displaying his family crest. This was made possible by just one of numerous technical advances made by Leonardo Da Vinci for Ezio to use.
Just finished this game skipped a day of work and havent slept at all just to play this. Anyone else played it and if so what are your thoughts on the game?
I'm still working through the first one, and I hear AC 2 has improved all of the flaws of the first one almost to the point of absurdity (in a good way!). I'm looking forward to playing the second one myself because the first one had a lot of potential.
I enjoyed AC greatly, although the "game start-up spoiler" was spoiled for me beforehand.
I'll get AC2, but not until it's old and cheap. I just... physically CAN'T buy new games anymore.
Now that Bioshock is 15 bucks at EB, it's next up for grabs.

I didn't like the first one so much because even though it was cool to fight and kill and stuff, the missions were omg stand on this tower, omg stand on this other tower, omg fall off this tower, omg stand on this tower. For...hours....
I'll admit, some of the ways you had to build up the assassinations were just plain annoying and stupid. Thankfully, the creators made it easy to skip pieces you didn't like.
Don't wanna collect the million flags? that's fine, you don't get anything for it anyway.
Don't want to ascend every tower in the city? that's fine, althought it makes the main quest easier.
Don't want to do all those "collect all these flags in 10 seconds!" info gathering quests? don't have to, do this eaves dropping or pickpocket quest instead.
Also - throwing knives saved this game

I didn't have a single problem with the first game except that it got boring if you played for too long in one sitting (and all of the parts in the room, of course, that was boring and stupid). I loved it!
I like this game a lot. The original AC was great for about an hour or so, but then it ran out of content. The sequel is full of content and has a lot of different things to do. I would have liked combat that was more challenging and technical, but I think the objective of combat in AC II is to serve as an obstacle rather than a challenge. The Assassin's Tomb missions, which are classic 3D platforming segments that remind me a lot of 1999, are a great touch.
My only criticism is that there is so much to do that there is little incentive to advance the story, so I'm starting to burn out on the game after 20 hours or so of play without having actually proceeded very far into the game.
