No, midis are their own format.
excuse me i didn't explain my question very well
what i meant to say was do they sound different? example the battle music sounded one way in RPG maker 95 but when rpg maker 2003 came out the midi's were changed entirely
Can you see my question?
Uh, I think he means if they are in the same general style. For instance, RM2k/3 midis don't exactly go very well with more serious, low-key sounding tracks. I don't have the answer to that question, if that's the actual question.
well considering my question is hard to explain maybe I should just get RPG Maker 95 and see for myself how it is
RPG Maker 95 doesn't have any music in it. I have attempted to use it once. It requires you to download songs into it.
RPG Maker 95 MIDIs
Sounds like its a case of the same MIDI sounding different in RPG Maker 95 and in RPG Maker 2000 which isn't unheard of (or when certain MIDIs play it can fuck up other MIDIs). If this is the case its just an issue with RM2k and there really isn't too much you can do about it. Use different MIDIs.

I'm thinking the question the OP had is "Is the music included with RM95 different from the music included in the RM2K3 RTP?", in which case yes it is completely different.
Incidentally GRS, I can swear I've heard some of those RM95 MIDIs somewhere in the pile of RM2K(3) games I've played. =O
