RPGS IN FLASH

I've been mostly using flash to make games these past few years. I made an RPG in flash and I'm making another one, so I was wondering what is your opinion of RPGs made in flash? Or your opinion on developing RPGs in flash.

The platform doesn't matter, it's whether the RPG is enjoyable or not that decides the day.
When I go looking for an RPG to play, flash games aren't something I usually peruse to find one. That's just because I haven't been made aware of any good RPG's made in flash.
Personally I see flash games as a pick up and play sort of thing because online browser games don't hold too much attachment or ownership to players. If you're making an RPG, designing it around that idea seems to make sense. Mainly stuff like: Not too much reading, not too much customization, more action based, fast paced and even making it shorter than a regular RPG.

I don't play too many flash RPGs either, but some of the successful ones I've seen seem to rely on what I've said to a certain degree.
Adventure Quest comes readily to mind. I didn't mind that game but I didn't play very long. It seemed to lack one of my favorite RPG elements: exploration.

This isn't very helpful. It applies to... everything. Ever.
Off hand, I don't think Flash making RPGs would end well. From what I know of it, Flash doesn't have the same local storage capabilities of, well, games made in almost anything else. Using cookies for storage is browser+computer dependent and is not a good persistence solution. Maybe the game could give a password for users to copy down (like normal text) into notepad or something. Maybe a DB backend, but that's a different can of worms dealing with secure communications and whatnot.

Of course if Flash can make local files to use as save data then users could just download the flash file and use that making my entire post moot

I've never played an RPG (or any game longer than ten minutes) in Flash so I can't give any anecdotes about my experiences. I do know Flash never had good keyboard support (and I doubt it has any gamepad support) so user input might be mouse-only and without right clicks to boot.

Telepath RPG: IMO, good example of what can be done as far as RPGs in Flash. I'm anticipating the next chapter.

EDIT: Chaos' example is good also, though I didn't finish Sonny 2 because it became a grind-fest.
Well I'll give 'em a spin when I get home from work so I can give a less '10 year old' perspective to the ol' flash games

Unfortunately, people seem to forget this every nine seconds.

That's sort of what I'm facing right now. My first RPG used cookies and I noticed some problems right away since the moment I go on another computer I can't continue my game, and at one point while testing my game someone cleared the cookies on my computer and my saved game was gone.

I'm looking into making something that uses a database in the background for my next game, since that seems to have worked for some.
