Open Notepad. Type 01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789. Adjust the width of the window. Turn on Word Wrap.

Especially since 2k3's font is monospaced in-game, but the input box isn't.

I did it simply because your input might be:

"Some letters with varying widths."

...which would make 2k3 show: 
Some letters with varying widths.


Even with the line, some strings with too many i's and l's might still wrap without touching the line. And if you start using \c and all that, you're boned.

Disclaimer: That archive only has an appropriately hex-editted RPG2003.exe file. If someone can manage to run RM2K3 with just that I'd be surprised.

tl;dr: It ain't piracy so much as it is a simple patch by Aten.

I use the David patch, which has it. I like the patch, and I am not usually a fan of patches.
