RM2K3 AUTO-LIFE EFFECT

I've got an evolution that gives a character an auto-life effect (brings back after death) once per battle, but it only works if another character is alive. If it's a huge attack that kills the entire party, the game over music plays, the character is brought back to life, but the game over splash screen still pops up right after anyway.
Has anyone figured out how to work an auto-life ability if the entire party gets wiped out? I've tested a few methods, but nothing works so far.

I remember trying to do something like this and having the same problem. Unfortunately I never found a solution.
Here's what I did in Phantasia Remake.
On the battle events I did a Turn x1 thing, and then on the script I did only Call Common event = Rebirth Ring (AKA Auto Life.)
Then on the Rebirth Ring Common event, I had everyone have the death condition first, then if they were wearing the Rebirth Ring they would fully recover and remove the equipment. The same could be done with the status alignment as well. Do it for all characters and it'll work.
But this works in the similar form like in FFTactics. As for reviving as soon as you die, that one is a tough one... but its probably no different than from what I explained.

I personally preferred it to game over when the party wipes so I never really bothered trying to find a solution to this.
I am thinking that whatever solution there is to this involves adding in a fake party member upon dying, which is imo, a dumb idea, exceedingly messy, and not worth it.
I think you are out of luck.
