I'm embarrassed by the piece of crap I've come up with but I should still be able to finish enough to submit it late tonight.

i'll submit something. it might not be longer than 30 seconds, but whatever. the theme is action 52, you'll get an awful action 52-worthy game
I'm really happy with my WIP but it is still a WIP at this point (1:44 AM Tuesday Morning) so I think I need to throw in the towel. On an honor system level, I think I've already been working for more than a 24 hour period. In fact, I think I might already have put in more than twenty four hours of ACTUAL work although I didn't really start until yesterday or so. On a complete self-interest level I am super exhausted. Nobody made me work on this project for the last thirteen hours straight but I chose to and as a result I am very burnt out. And finally I feel like if I release this a little later it might get a bit more attention, and not get lost with the other Action 52. But really the first two things are far more of an issue.
Unfortunately I cannot submit what I got done. Although I set my sights very reasonably in some regards- three maps, one battle- I was obviously too ambitious in others. So at this point I have all three maps done satisfactorily, all necessary resources (and no unnecessary resources) created and/or imported, and a beautifully completed database with fourteen unique characters and all of their skills and equipment...and no real gameplay at all. Really all there is to do is code some menus, like half a cutscene and then the aforementioned boss battle, but I don't want to rush the battle and more importantly I don't want to put my poor brains through the four dozen layers of nested menus and conditionals (similar to the agony that was coding Mage Duel's character creation) necessary to code the beginning, especially not after all the other stuff I have put my brain through today working on this game.
So, time for the list of shame. Oh well...not like I didn't predict this. If anyone hasn't TL;DR'd at this point, I'd like to say I'm gonna try really hard to stick to the spirit of this event and not expand the scope of this particular project beyond three maps and one battle.
