Recently I've been trying to come up a short newbish project that could be completed in a month or two.
This is what I've come up with...
Working Title: Skelepimp's Revenge. or The Tables Turn.
Platform: R2k3 (I have vx but I'm still not comfortable with it.)
Basic concept: Sort of a reverse dungeon crawl; Instead of having a group of heroes invade a monster lair and start killing and looting. A group of evil adventurers march into a city full of 'level one adventurers just waiting around to get their ass kicked' and start the mayham. They're after a specific treasure which I'll come up with a name for later.
Playing time: 1-2 hours most of which will be in battles. Trying to keep everything as short and simple as possible.
Characters:
Skelepimp: The undead knight from RTP, with as much attitude and sarcasm as I can cram into him.
Impy: A frost imp that seems to way too cheerful, questions everything.
Roan: A drow rogue up to even less good than usual.
Krog: A Half-Ogre goon. Big stupid, likes to smash things. Other characters refer to him as Meatshield.on multiple occasions.
Enemies:
Most of noncombatants have fled form the town and the townsfolk are ready for trouble, just not this kind of trouble. There are also a lot of adventurers and would be heroes who will put up a real fight.
Opening cut scene: Just to give you an idea of what sort of game this would be.
Alex shows up center screen.
Alex: Hi I'm Alex and this is my RTP adventure.
Skelepimp walks up to Alex and strikes him down.
Skelepimp: Wrong!!! I'm Skelepimp and this is MY RTP adventure. Mutherf*ckers!!!
Impy: Was that really necessary?
Skelepimp: Yes I found him annoying so I killed him. That's all the excuse I need.
Impy: No I mean the swear at the end. It wasn't really that necessary.
Skelepimp: Oh come on what is the point in being evil if you can't say f*ck every five seconds.
Roan: Swearing like that doesn't make you more evil. It just makes you sound like a sixteen year old anime fan.
Skelepimp: Hey most of the people who would play this game are sixteen year old anime fans.
Krog: Krog like the part where you smash in face.
Skelepimp: Ah finally some moral support.

Sounds fine, just some things to bear in mind:
Firstly, the role reversal for the plot as far as playing the bad guy kicking good gut butt is a novelty. It's a neat idea, but one neat idea can't drive a significant amount of gameplay on its own. Try to turn the gameplay around, too. You shouldn't need to create any large amount of custom content, but be clever with presentation and skills and such.
Because the game is light on story and heavy on gameplay, it might be wise to focus on parody and humorous bits, both with eventing and with character abilities.

More or less what I had in mind. In a way I'm using this mainly as a test run to see how much I've learnt about using RM2k3 battle system.
Well, the role reversal idea is a good one, but I'm not a big fan of the humorous style. Just my taste though.
But still, regardless of the theme, if it's an all-battle game, make sure it's fun enough, gameplay-wise. Being a bad guy instead of a good guy isn't enough to keep a player motivated to a 2h RTP-battles game.

Actually I don't see anyway to have game starring really Evil characters that doesn't have a significant amount of humor in it to soften the blow. A serious game about murdering, stealing and burning might be gritty, realistic and innovative but it wouldn't be terribly fun.
Fun is the whole point of making a game so I'll have put a great deal of thought as to how everything fits together and exactly what lines I can't cross.

It could be fun realistic too. Not saying it's bad funny, just pointing out what you said in your post wasn't necessarily true.

Bob's Big Adventure! Quite a hard game, and one of my favorites.
Ok I'll have to check that one out then.
I don't think I could stomach a game with such cheesy writing unless dialog was kept to a minimum. The "humour" is really forced.
Other than that it could work out well, it could work out badly. It's all up to you.

I'm going to make tardis look like a mean ol grouch and say that the writing could use a lot of work. I'm not sure where you are going with the whole "you are not allowed to swear! el oh el!" maybe you should expand on the dark humor thing where innocent people and heroic characters are completely disregarded kinda like in Dungeon Keeper.
A clever premises. I thought of something similar. If you made it more focused on anti hero dungeon crawling you could basically make it so the dungeon is a castle or something and your hud town would be the towns you invade and capture.
A game like that would naturally need a bit of tongue and cheek so it'd be great to have some light humored dialogue poking fun of rpg hero cliches.
The whole idea reminds me of Holy Invasion Of Privacy.

Trying to make the Imp sound like a know-it-all douchebag. Keep in mind that everything is still up in the air here and that I've done more work on this thread than on the actual game at this point.
I think a lot of those RTP-lol jokes are really, really dated. I wouldn't try to make the humor overly forced. The short gameplay length and reverse dungeon crawler elements sound nice, although they are totally dependent on good design. The gameplay intensiveness could be problem if you're using RM2K3, because a lot of those battles can be a drag.
