post=125362Gimp is pretty much the same as photoshop apart from a few minor things. and if you search on deviantart, you'll find many artists use Gimp and there are tutorials out there :)
Is there a special strategy or maybe a tutorial out there too make stuff like this with e.g. Gimp or is Shotoshop definitely needed?
post=125384thank you! um it depends really, around 4-5 hours on the last one i posted and a bit longer on the spring girl. I like to procrastinate a lot though, so i could have probably done it quicker, i don't really know. i lose track of time to be honest! haha

I think we can all agree that i pretty much stink at landscapes, goshdarn :(
I didn't even finish this properly because i was getting too frustrated, i can't even do rocks hahaha, and that stuff in the middle is supposed to be water, like a spring(or something hah i dont even know what i was going for)
any advice from a landscaper-drawerer if there is one wandering around here?
edit: actually, looking at it maybe it isnt as bad as i was making it out to be in my head, its actually growing on me ha!

Try using harder edges and such with surfaces like stone, I'd say.

Landscape could use some more work. I'd say you're doing it right but you stopped halfway. The scene is really nice though! Great atmosphere.
