CAN'T EVEN RUN IT.

I just downloaded RPG maker 2000 and the Run-Time Player. Although when I try to run it, it says "This operating system is not supported!". Am I forgetting something?
I would imagine the problem is that your operating system isn't supported. No intent to be sarcastic/funny there either.

What OS are you running?
Well there you go, I don't think Vista can run either 2000 or 2003. I think theres a way to fix it, but I'm no expert of the subject, so don't ask me.
I think this is how you'd go about fixing it:

-Right click on the install/whatever.

- Select "properties" at the bottom.

-Go to the "Compatibility" tab up top in the next window that opens.

-Go to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP" from the box.

Then apply, and it should work.
Eh, it is Vista Home Premium, so there isn't a Compatibility tab...
Microsoft would cut features out of a "premium" version.
Curse you, Bill Gates, curse you...
Are there any patches for that, though... ?
I am running Vista Home Premium and have a Compatibility tab :\

if yours is missing then that is a mystery indeed!
Weird: in some of the Properties windows for other programs, they do have the Compatibility tab.
That is weird. I guess I learned something today :x
Alright! I got it installed! But now that I try to open the RTP to install, it says "The Compressed folder ... is invalid"... How many more problems will there be!?

A lot. You are trying to run a ten year old piece of bootleg Japanese software on a modern American PC and an OS for which backward compatibility was not a priority. Sorry dude. : (
