Okay, so obviously we all have drastically different life styles, and live in drastically different parts of the world. As a result, we probably all have very different diets and styles of cooking.

The purpose of this thread is to explain the role of cooking/food in your life. Do you get enjoyment out of cooking? Are you a good chef? These kinds of questions. If you can't think of anything, tell us what you're having for supper tonight. And if you're feeling real inspired, share a favorite recipe of yours.

For me, I'm a terrible cook, and don't really have enough time to practice with it. School takes up a lot of time (especially along with a job), so as a result I stick to pretty basic dishes. For suppers, I usually just make a pasta with premade sauce, and throw in whatever random vegetables I have around.

Tonight for supper I had a can of soup that tasted like shit, but it was alright after I added a bunch of spices. For breakfast, I made french toast and sausages.
When I'm not lazy and decide to cook for myself (being at home does help that, at least), I'm not too shabby. I'm still learning, though. Mostly about when things are done, which can be a problem, especially with meat. But, like I said, I'm pretty good otherwise.

I get a thrill out of having to do a bunch of things at once, though it does get overwhelming sometimes. Like, grilling something in a pan on the stove, having to stir the pasta/starch dish in the pot, while having to deal with the stuff going into the microwave. Yeah.

I was kind of ill today (woke up and couldn't talk), so I got New England clam chowder for lunch. (Pancakes for breakfast, BTW; kind of a family tradition having them on Sundays.) Dinner was ham (slightly dry/overcooked), baked beans (reheated), and deviled eggs (a few a little bit too much ketchup).
I usually have fun cooking, mainly when I am the only one who will be eating it.

So far I have one recipe I made without any help or plan, just grabbing whatever the heck I touched and putting it in.

Cinnamon spaghetti

came out suprisingly good... and spicy.

Other than that, I usually just help out with my mom's recipies. She's great at cooking when she wants to be, and I can cook pretty much all her recipies on my own.
I absoloutly love to cook. However, to say I am great at it, is probably an overstatement.

I enjoy makijng pastas the most, because it is easy to make simple sauces and then add things to them.

Unfortunately, I only really ever got to cook over at my mom's house (who is in a slight predicament right now, discussion is not needed, just know I can't go to her house right now) And my Dad ajnd stepmom are kind of nazi's when it comes to lettinjg me cook. So here, I pretty much eat whatever is canned or packadged, so Mr. Noodles and KD are always good.
I love to cook and always have fun cooking when i'm at work. My favourite type of food would have to be chicken. I am very different when i'm at my house though as i would rather just order pizza than get off the couch and cook. ;D

I don't like cooking that much unless I'm cooking with someone else on an actual meal. Most of the time I'm just whipping up something to sustain me for a while... something really simple.

I really prefer to do other work and be cooked for :)

I don't cook often. I tend not to be home most of the time (I'll be either at school or work until late generally). Also, there's really not much good stuff in the refrigerator should I actually be home, so... yeah.

My mom cooks. She used to be better at it, but lately I'll just see the food and instead go out to eat because it has no flavor or anything. Otherwise, I'll go make myself a sandwich, Macaronies and Cheese, have a can of chef boyardee or something simple like that. I don't make all that much money, so I don't buy myself groceries, else I might try cooking more often. Also, I'm picky when it comes to food and don't like a big variety of stuff. So should I need to cook for myself, I can always go online and find some recipes assuming I have the ingredients.

But otherwise, I generally don't like cooking all that much, as I'd rather be on the computer doing stuff.
