I did something dumb. : (

I was feeling lazy so rather than setting up the chipset passability myself for the Mack tiles, I just started a new project using the Mack VX demo folder. In hindsight, I should just used the Wanderer folder for the same purpose, but I really wanted a blank DBS/empty folders to start this project. Anyway, I found out much to my chagrin that all my scripts are in Japanese. Even more to my chagrin, I found this out AFTER I had set up LOTS of the database. : ( MAXIMUM CHAGRIN!

Anyway, I addressed most of the issues that came up by copying English language scripts like "Vocab" and "Name Input" over their whacky japaneezy counterparts. However I am still suffering from a super annoying gltich. These SQUARES that I guess are some kind of japaneezy characters are appearing next to monster names in the DBS windows and I can't get them to go away. I've copied English scripts over MOST of the scripts I THOUGHT might be causing the problem, like all the Window_ type scripts. But that didn't fix the problem.

Can someone please help me get out of this stupid hole I've dug myself into? Thank you so much.

Wouldn't simply overwriting your Japanese Scripts.rvdata with an English stock Scripts.rvdata fix the issue of having Japanese RGSS scripts? o_o

Quite possibly. Pretend I am very, very ignorant about this (done, right?) and explain...nevermind I FIGURED IT OUT.

The problem with that is I would lose all the scripts I WANTED. So what I did was, I copied the project's "Scripts.rvdata" to a dummy folder, then made a dummy project called "Project 2", and copied that project's "Scripts.rvdata" into my original projects folder, overwriting my scripts and fixing the problem. Then I copied the backup "Scripts.rvdata" into Project 2 and individually copied the scripts I wanted from Project 2 back into my project.

This seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you for the idea. In the future this topic will address anything else that this fix happens to have broken.

For future reference, Game_Troop is what makes the "Orc A," "Orc B," etc. names, and was what was causing the issue. You could have just replaced the unicode symbols with the English variant.

Thank you! Game_Troop! I should have known. I replaced like every other fucking thing, lol.
Now I want to watch Goof Troop again.
