As if you didn't care about this...
It is missing Lex Luthor and Kingpin, but then, they may not have reported all of their income, being that they are evil (and into illegal wheelin' and dealin').
Forbes' lists the richest fictional characters
Who says you have to actually exist to be named a top-earner by Forbes?
The financial magazine has just announced its Fictional 15 for 2007 â€" the 15 wealthiest characters in fiction. Chosen by the editors, the 15 had to meet three key criteria:
* they had to be authored fictional creations (i.e. not mythological or folkloric)
* they had to star in “a specific narrative work or series of worksâ€
* they must be known for being rich, both within their fictional universe and by their audience
And the winners have between them a total net worth of $137 billion. That's BILLION. The Top 15 are:
1. Scrooge McDuck, seen on '80s cartoon Ducktales ($28.8 billion)
2. Ming the Merciless, arch-enemy of Flash Gordon ($20.9 billion)
3. pre-teen billionaire Richie Rich, seen on his self-titled '80s cartoon ($16.1 billion)
4. Mom, the head of Futurama's MomCorp ($15.7 billion)
5. The Beverly Hillbillies' oil tycoon Jed Clampett ($11 billion)
6. C. Montgomery Burns, owner and operator of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant on The Simpsons ($8.4 billion)
7. Family Guy's aging tycoon Carter Pewterschmidt ($7.2 billion)
8. Batman's alter ego, Bruce Wayne ($7 billion)
9. Gilligan's Island castaway Thurston Howell III ($6.3 billion)
10. Iron Man's alter ego, Tony Stark, seen on Eureka ($6 billion)
11. blogger Fake Steve Jobs ($5.7 billion)
12. creepy and kooky patriarch Gomez Addams of The Addams Family ($2 billion)
13. candy king Willy Wonka ($1.9 billion)
14. Harry Potter's nemesis Lucius Malfoy ($1.6 billion)
15. the Mario Bros.' beloved Princess Peach ($1.3 billion0

How on earth did they get a number for Peach?
That is absolutely amazing. I'd expect Richie Rich and Scrooge McDuck to be up near the top. I'm curious to know where they got the numbers in general. Like, say, for the Malfoys, or, of course, Princess Peach.

I was wondering why Lex Luthor wasn't on the list.

Peach has 1.3 billion dollars?
I wonder if she's still single.
Dude, leaving your fiance for Princess Peach is so sleazy.

"Sleazy" is not the word I'd use, personally.

Anyone else could say what I said and have it be taken as a joke.
But when I say it, it's an admission that I want to marry Princess Peach. Get real... ::)

Lol, where do they get such numbers? I'm guessing tjhey are just random estimates etc.
I bet you that nice pearl necklace that Fred's wife wears on the Flinstones is worth a pretty penny though.

100 gold coins. AKA the cost of a 1-Up. Or 16,500 points (you know, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000...) So a point is 1/6 of the US Dollar?
It's rich in Mario Land. One gold coin is worth $910! And Paper Mario: TTYD wants us to pay 6-8 coins just to heal at savepoints...
This value also holds for Dragon Quest. 75 gold to use the inn? I could BUY the inn for that!
Let's look at Zelda.
Seriously, Link could only hold about $6 worth in Zelda I?
Breath of Fire, (what did you think Zenny referred to?)
So a 1,000 Zenny armor isn't really that expensive. The best armor in BoF is much cheaper than some of the weakest armor in Dragon Quest.
Final Fantasy,
Because Netherlands joined the EU, Guilders (gil) is now obsolete.
Suikoden is bits (AKA a penny), so that's easy enough to figure out. Just divide by 100.
100.00 XAU = 91,043.50 USD
Gold Ounces United States Dollars
1 XAU = 910.435 USD 1 USD = 0.00109838 XAU

I believe that since the King of All Cosmos actually owns the different worlds that all of these characters inhabit that he is the richest fictional character.
Also, he has the biggest package.
Also, he has the biggest package.
author=brandonabley link=topic=588.msg8936#msg8936 date=1202835543Agreed, but his richness isn't really commented on in-game from what I remember (one assumes that he's so rich/powerful that money just isn't an issue), so he doesn't meet the criteria for inclusion.

I suppose one could figure out the cost to make a star based on those Red Panda levels from We <3 Katamari, minus labor (if you can consider eye-beams to be "labor") and figure out how many stars he actually owns...
