Title says it all. Actually I know that with simple coding I could do it... but fact is, I don't know any kind of coding. So the question could also be :
Simple tutorial with a simple form of code that could help me do that.

I think there's something called frotz but I'm not sure if that actually makes games, ask healy. There's also Ren'Py if you want more animu/VN in your text adventures. I make little text adventures on my ti-83 calculator but I'm pretty sure you don't want that.
Frotz is (I think) an emulator/compiler/engine but not an editor.
I used to use Quest but now I recommend ADRIFT! I was making a game in it before I got sucked back into the world of RPG Maker. Maybe I will release it here for shits and giggles.
If you want to be SERIOUS you should use Inform, that's what all the SERIOUS guys use. It is a programming language but is based on actual written english which for me was such a counterintuitive mindfuck that I looked at it once and basically ran away screaming. (Like, either be a programming language or not! What the hell, inform.)
ADRIFT is more like the RPG Maker VX of text adventures. (Quest was like RPG Maker 95 of text adventures.)
Oh yeah, this is probably obvious but...there is no reason you can't make a text adventure in RPG maker, lol. Seems weird but...that's an option too.
