SHOW ME YOUR SCREENSHOTS! SPRING EDITION.
Posts
I guess there was a lot of drama in the topic I saw back in the fall. I suggest only posting -positive- feedback about maps that are works in progress. No arguments. Unless you want someone to close this topic :)
Here are some of mine:

Deckiller, I'm not sure this is allowed period. But whatever, since it's here I'll play along.
I like the ruins screenshot. How do the spikes work? Do they switch from side to side or anything? If not, they look like they'd just be "oh hey get into more encounters plzkthnx" obstacles.
Battle system of In Praise of Peace, a slightly modified version of Yanfly's Melody (using front-view, no PC battlers, and CTB).

Why, is there something against screenshot threads?
Edit: the game has touch encounters, so the spikes are just for decoration/showing that a nasty place it was in times past :)

Where does it say they are banned? There was a prosperous one when I was here last September...
I know it was closed due to drama. Is that why?

No, they are banned because they are redundant and act only useless circle jerks/drama fests.
There are other places to post screenshots here at RMN (like on a game profile!).

Is there a place such rules are posted? There was nothing of the sorts in the "new to RMN" topic, after all.
Well... I'm in favor of a screenshot topic. People tend not to post unfinished maps/graphics or wips in their gameprofiles, and they souldn't. A topic would be more appropriate for asking feedback. Just my opionion.
While we're at it:
Deckiller: I like your maps a lot. But I have the impression that there's a lot of unused space on that snow village. Not empty, just unused. It's a very large map with nothing more than 3 houses in it. Very good mapping, nonetheless.
Craze: That screenshot reminds me a lot of PC games for some reason. Very nice. I just dig that blurry background very much.

Thanks, calunio. I'll understand if the topic has to be deleted, then. If so, I won't do it again :)
Thanks for the feedback, as well. It's a small location in the middle of a tundra -- not so much of a village as an outpost -- so I decided to space it out a bit. I'll definitely try to find stuff to fill in the landscape, though!
Craze, I love the facesets and the add-ons at the top of the screen with that battle system. Custom script, I take it?

Don't add STUFF, add events. Talkable people, preferrably... or, at the very least, interactive objects that give some information about that location, like signs, flags, or whatever. Don't make the player walk just for the sake of walking.
Like I briefly mentioned in the post, Deckiller, it's Yanfly's semi-private release of Melody, a crazy set of high-quality battle systems. It'll be public soon enough, but currently I am doing my best to break it open with this Melody showcase project.
calunio: Thanks.

Ah, that's what I meant. NPCs and probably a few vehicles. All I have completed is the mapping, so that's why it's still bare bones.
Edit: I also have 4-5 treasure chests planted here, as well. I love treating towns like any other area when it comes to treasure. Gives people more of an incentive to explore, like you said. Probably comes from my love of Zelda and Fallout 3.
Ahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahaha
F-G that is gorgeous. Well, not really, it looks like a DOS game (it's not OFFENSIVE but not gorgeous). All of the posters are pure gold, though.

The sad part is that Alexander looks pretty much like himself.
