I know i'm making alot of these, but i'm still rather new to RPGMaker2k3. and right now, there aren't much in the tutorial region...(Thanks kentona and geodude for the previous help).

I'm working on creating a bankai system, where in the beginning of a battle, the heroes have their regular moves, but then use shikai...which then gives them more abilities, and then you could also use bankai, which drastically increases your abilities. Is there a way i can use common events to create this, and if so, how would i go about calling a common event in-battle? Much appreciated :]

~Ken

PS. No i dont plan on repeatedly asking for help, and any help given, will be in my credits at the end of my demo.

Basic Layout of menu options

Attack
Tech --> Shikai --> Use Shikai.
Defend
Run

When shikai is used, new option.

Attack
Cry --> Different moves, etc. including Bankai --> Use Bankai
Defend
Run

When Bankai is used, even more

Attack
SwordName --> Even more different set of moves, including new sprite when move is used...
Defend
Run

(I hope my layout makes sense.
I'm not satisfied with your description of "bankai" and "shikai", but let me give you one piece of advice:

If you're planning on using RM2K3 Default Battle System (DBS), I recommend you download some games that uses DBS twists (I can name some, other people can too), read some tutorials on modifying DBS, and THEN deciding what you want to do with your battle system.

If you have too many ideas for your battle system, just forget the DBS altogether and make a CBS (Custom Battle System). DBS is not that flexible. But then again, if you're new to RM2K3, it's not worth it.
You can do similar things to what you describe in RMVX with existing scripts, I know. For RM2k3, I believe you will have to use battle events that call common events which will in turn add skills to the hero of your choice. Some of those skills could be buffs (like x2 ATK).

At the end of each battle, remove the extra skills. You can do that by having an auto-start After battle common event that is triggered by a switch which you turn on at the start of a battle.

So...mysterious japaneezy names...why?
Sorry, i really should've given more information.

Shikai is the first transformation of a sword, which allows the user to have more special skills.

Bankai is the same thing basically, but it allows a transformation of the person itself, or the sword once again, and it greatly enhances abilities.

The mysterious names. Replica of Bleach. Etc. Once again, sorry for the lack of information in my first post, i was in a hurry to go to work. :\

If anymore information is needed let me know.

And to add to this...would it be more necessary to download another gaming engine?

I've seen alot done in RM2k3(Ascendance being a good demo of what it can do) so unless you want to use another gaming engine/rpgmaker I don't see why you would need to. Just don't ask which RPGmaker is better(because then the VX vs XP vs 2k3 argument will pop up again). They each have their own ups and downs and I'll leave it at that.
There is a battle command called Call Common Event. You can use that to call a common event that Change Battle Commands and Change Skills as appropriate. You can make the battle event trigger be Bob uses the Tech command.

Dont worry, i wont throw that argument in today. I already know what kinda stuff that starts, by peering through threads and such, and google.

Kentona: I'll have to do that. :) Ill look into it and if i need more help i'll let everyone know.
