CAN'T SAVE DATABASE IN RM2K3

I just installed Windows 7 on my new comp recently. I can open RM2k3 just fine, no problems there. I can create new projects fine. But if I try to edit something in my existing projects and I click either Apply or OK, I get an error saying that the RPG_RT.ldb file cannot be created and I can't save anything.

My maps are fine; I didn't get any .lmt errors or anything, it's just the one I mentioned above. How can I fix this? I can't finish Deluxe until this gets resolved.
Is Rm2k3/Your game in your Program Files folder? Does this apply to all games, even newly created ones?
No, it's just Deluxe (the game I'm slowly working on), and its older version I have backed up, too.

It doesn't happen with new projects.
Is Rm2k3/Your game in your Program Files folder? (Vista/W7 have changed the security with writing to the Program Files folder so having either in Program Files could be causing issues, but I'd assume not if maps are still saving correctly)

I'm curious, if you make a new game and copy the database file (RPG_RT.ldb?) into it, can you edit/save the DB in there?

Does this work if you run RM2k3 as an administrator? (right click on the editor and select 'Run as Administrator')

(this whole thing sounds like W7 security is being annoying)
is the database file write protected?
It's not in Program Files. It's sitting in its own folder on my main hard drive. And no, copying a new .ldb file still gives me that same error.

@kentona: I don't think it is, however the RPG_RT.ini file is write-protected. (I get this when I try to exit the program, and I get a RPG.RT.lmu error when I do try to save it.

If all else fails, I'll probably end up downgrading back to XP, because it worked perfectly there.
if you got the backup from a CD, it may have set the files to write protected. You should double check and remove it if it is.
Try copy and pasting all the files to a new project. I had the same problem, and that fixed it.
I'll try that when I get home tonight. I'm on my laptop right now where I don't have access to the program.
Try moving the project to somewhere inside your personal folder, "Documents" for example, or start RM2k3 with administrator rights. I recommend the first way.
Thank you Cherry! That worked perfectly (the first suggestion).

Now I can get back to work. :)
